Our evening was a tribute to the memory of two very close people whose Birthdays occur this weekend but sadly they have departed this world. There is a sense of calm and peace on arrival. The restaurant was busy but very well managed. The choice of food was great and our selection from the menu was superb. Compliments to all The Team at Carrig House.A true gem on our doorstep-not to be missed. Thank You
10/10 food, service, location, scenery, atmosphere! Very reasonable price also, 3 courses for 6 people with drinks came to 350€ including service charge. The views are just incredible what ever the weather. Would happily come back.
From the moment we arrived we felt we were staying somewhere special. Coffee in the garden in front of the lake was beautiful. Our rooms were excellent with both bath and shower. Very comfortable beds. Dinner was top class . Would definitely recommend to anyone.
My husband and I recently returned to Carrig House and as always it is a fabulous treat. This is one of our favourite places and it is reinforced every time we visit. Just when you think it can’t get better! We received a warm and friendly reception by Mary and Siobhan. The warm hospitality always sets the scene. You begin to relax and unwind as soon as you set foot on the grounds. There is a wonderful view from the lake view bedrooms which are well appointed and very comfortable. The dining experience at Carrig house is always a memorable one. The amazing Patricia Teahan uses the freshest local ingredients to produce the most delicious dishes. The menu offers great choice. We were well looked after by Teresa and Tracey and always lovely to see the familiar faces. Frank, Mary and Claire do an outstanding job at Carrig House and it also is reflected in their wonderful team. We highly recommend Carrig House and cannot wait for our next visit.…
Fabulous stay. Quiet and cosy country comfort. Very comfortable beds. Beautiful gardens and lake views. Amazing food, we ate here every night of the three! A lovely memory for the future, I hope we'll be back.
We enjoyed our three night stay which included two dinners. Location is lovely with our room overlooking Caragh Lough. We ate out on our first night as they were not serving dinner that day although we had originally booked for dinner in day 1 and 3 to allow for variety in between. We were greeted by Siobhan who provided welcome tea coffee and cake. Room was lovely with two comfortable armchairs overlooking the Lough. No tv in the room nor coffee and tea. There was a tv room which we did not use. Tea and coffee available to order in lounges downstairs. Lovely sitting room and library downstairs. Breakfast and dinner delicious. Quite a formal process to order with Frank and Mary explaining menus and taking drinks orders before dinner. Enjoyable stay overall
Just returned from a wonderful three day break at Carrick Country House. From start to finish this was a truly delightful experience. Exceptional food and wonderful service by owners and staff. Would highly recommend.
This is our 3rd and unfortunately our last time at Carrigh Country House. While the accommodations are decent the owner Frank is flat out rude. I don’t remember him being that way in the previous trips here. Maybe it’s time to for Frank to consider retirement. If you have lost your passion for running a B&B then maybe just stay in the background and hire staff that are capable of at least being polite.
Our first time back for dinner at Carrig House since the pandemic began... what a great it was! Really lovely welcome from Frank and Claire and all the staff and wonderful service from start to finish ! The food as ever was truly excellent, beautifully presented and a real dining experience. Thank you for a really lovely birthday evening Jenny and Liam
My husband and I recently returned to Carrig House and it never disappoints. The warm welcome from Frank, Mary, Claire and team sets the tone. We were looked after by Siobhán on arrival. Once you arrive at the property, there is a sense of peace and tranquility. The food is outstanding. The chef Patricia Teahan has amazing talent and the combination of flavours and fresh ingredients is a feast for the senses. The service provided by Teresa and Tracey in the dining room is excellent. It is one of our favourite places to return to again and again. Carrig house is an example of the best of Irish hospitality and we highly recommend it. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
