Stayed at Beach house January 2020. Friendly staff, nice room and garden. Sensational beach. The highlight of our stay was to witness the hilarious antics of the Rishi the owners son. He speaks fluent Sinhalese and German, as well as English. He is only three years old!!!! Amazed. What a star.
We booked a room at top floor, the only room with the shower ... outside the room... at the end of the corridor but with sufficient privacy; it reminded us Bali and it fills the trip with fun! The room was spacious to accommodate our surfing stuff on top of the rest! The food was great too: breakfast is awesome, fried rice outstanding... among other things that were good! Located by a very long beach of white sand , we enjoyed the laziness on the wooden beach deck chair. Sri Lanka being Sri Lanka, don’t be too much in a hurry; everything comes in patience mode 😂. Thanks to the owners and their staff for the hospitality and their kindness. We loved that place and again ... how the owners treated us. Peace.
We are in love with this place so much! Rooms are very clean and tidy and owner is very kind and helpful. Delicious breakfasts and dinners prepared on request (it's worth the wait - the dinners were delicious). We will recommend this place for our friends. if you are looking for a quiet place well connected to other cities - this hotel is the best choice.
Stopped by this place as it was recommended by Citron Villa (the place we were staying). Staff were very friendly. Lunch was average but dinner was great! For lunch we ordered the vegetable fried rice. We ordered the deep fried cuttlefish and the Northern Sri Lankan parata meal, both of which lived up to our expectations. Don't order the pina coladas... they were missing a key ingredient (pineapple!). The juices are very good, however. This beach is fantastic and was almost completely empty at the end of March.
Stayed here for about a week. Prabath the manager (owner?) is a nice guy. However he could be better organised and need some help. Main reason: My GF and I need a taxi to our hotel which was near Udawalawe - but a different town which we showed him. He organised a taxi to Udawalawe and also organised another German traveller to share the taxi with us. This we did not mind - if he was going to the same town. But he was not. So we had to drop this guy off - the German traveller got a great deal. Our hotel was two hours away - different town. The taxi driver did not know this when he was booked. (Be careful with taxi and tuk tul drivers in Sri Lanka)... Our driver was terrible. I would be cautious and pay for a good driver as the driving in Sri Lanka is terrible. Very dangerous overtaking and speeding on narrow roads. Our driver was very unsafe - he sped at 130 km / hr in the dark across the wrong side of the road. The driver also did not have a smart phone so he had no idea where he was going. He had to ring our next hotel about a dozen times to work out where to go. So be specific with Prabath and tell him very clearly what you want. You will need to follow up a few times. I have no doubt he will try hard to accomodate you. The hotel is behind a noisy road, so you need to turn up the air conditioning and fans. The food and breakfast from the restaurant is quite good though. We had a big room and it was fairly clean.…
(Only reviewing the restaurant here as haven't stayed at the hotel.) My husband and I often eat here after walking our dog on the spectacular beach at Habaraduwa. The owner, Prabath, is a super kind and friendly man who will do everything in his power to ensure that you have a good time whilst at his place. There are tables out by the beach which afford a wonderful view on this gorgeous stretch of sea and sand. There are also tables inside (still nice and airy because it's open on all sides but just covers you from the elements, should that be necessary!). The food here is amazing. You shouldn't eat here if you're in a hurry, because the food does take a while to arrive, but it is WELL worth the wait: everything is being cooked freshly in the kitchens and is exceptionally tasty. The chefs/cooks here clearly know what they are doing. This is one of the best curries we've had in the area and we've been back here multiple times (and will be back again, I know!) because it is just so tasty!…
This family run hotel is a little pearl in little Sri Lanka. Only 5 rooms and a really cozy atmosphere, the beach is almost completely empty! The restaurant quality is good and the prices among the best we had. The owner is very kind and cares about you, he speaks very good English and German, has a lovely wife (also German speaker), as well as two marvelous children. We felt ourselves at home here! The rooms are spacious, clean, with mosquito tent, A/C, fan, hair dryer, fridge and balcony with sea view. The beach is great! White and fine sand, the current not so strong as in Tangalle, no rocks at all for kilometers and wonderful sunsets to witness. The only minor points for us were the light curtains, letting the morning light shining through, the other side of the room faces the main road with traffic, so it could get noisy, and, finally, there have been several interruptions of the electrical lines in the whole zone. Nothing of this troubled us that much, and the kindness and availability of the staff made it a great stay here. For anyone who is unsure between here and Tangalle, don't think twice and come here!…
We spent 3 nights in Beach House Habaraduwa which is definitely too short- the place is located just on the beautiful , long, deserted beach- no people, no crowds and loudy tourists- just you and beautiful ocean where you can have a lot of fun jumping and playing on waves (however not recommended for small children). The owners are very friendly and nice people, trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The place has only 5 rooms so the atmosphere is very intimate and you feel there as at home. There is a restaurant with delicious food is on the spot and breakfast under a palm tree on the beach is simply unforgettable. I am sure we will come back there one day.
This place feels like home. And that's largely due to the host Prabhat and his loving family and crew. The rooms are big and clean. Their kitchen dishes out some great local food and Prabhat was extremely kind and thoughtful to introduce us to new local delicacies everyday. It's a new property and the top floor is being readied, and I would definitely opt to live on top (for the fantastic view). It's located on an isolated stretch of beach and is close to the fuel station and supermarket and the bus station. Great spot if you are looking to travel around further north to Unawatunna or south to Mirissa. Its impossible to spot if you are coming from Galle as the board is covered up by the shop next to it, watch out for the 129 km milestone. As the hotel was not fully ready, we did not have hot water. But we did not miss it much as its fairly warm in Sri Lanka all year. Other than that, it was a fantastic place to live. Would love to stay for longer next time. …
