We weren’t sure what to expect when we were recommended Tabula Rasa. A smaller resort set away from the beach.. could we feel cut off? How wrong could we be. Being set on a hillside away from the main road but overlooking miles of beautiful coastline is one of the most amazing things about this resort. It is beautifully designed and landscaped but so peaceful and tranquil, and a welcome break from the craziness of the beach area but is literally just five minutes by tuk tuk which reception will call for you. In fact, we went everywhere by tuk tuk as the resort is in such a good location, one way to weligama, mirissa and kabalana beach and then the other to Thalpe, unawatuna and Galle. The team were so incredibly helpful, always welcoming us back with a smile, making us cups of tea or serving glasses of wine late into the evening. They made our stay truly wonderful. Thank you! Rooms are lovely, really clean, great bathrooms and tea and coffee. Making a coffee each morning and sitting on the balcony watching the monkeys and birds in the trees and a regular morning visit from the mongoose down in the gardens below was a wonderful start to the day. You must try the Sri Lankan breakfast, delicious Hoppers and spicy Sambal, yum! Overall this is a very special resort for its location, beautiful design and amazing staff. Thank you to Anouk for the privilege to enjoy 8 amazing nights in her beautiful and luxurious 5 star hotel. The hotel is homely, beautifully decorated, fabulously designed, boasts fantastic sea and jungle views, in a quiet and tranquil area and a convenient tuk tuk ride from pristine beaches and the city of Galle. The rooms are comfortable and luxurious, and Anouk spoiled us with an upgrade to one of the prestige pool suites - thank you so much Anouk - what a treat to cool off in your own rim flow splash pool in the middle of the jungle. Stuff travel brochures are made off! We can only highly recommend this amazing hotel. Many Many thanks for your generous hospitality, the stay was unforgettable!

I stayed in the resort for over one week and I really loved it! The stuff was very helpful and always friendly. My room was just beautiful and every morning and evening I could watch monkeys :) Food and drinks were super delicious! And also the pool area was very relaxing and beautiful. I really enjoyed the stay in the Tabula Rasa Resort and I will definitely come back again.

After travelling around Sri Lanka we found tranquility in the jungle in a place where we felt like guests in a beautiful home rather than a hotel with the finest service (Domica was like our personal butler) and most stunning views over the jungle, lake and sea. This place sets a really high standard for others to aspire to. Congratulations to all who make Tabula Rasa special!

We are staying here nine nights in February 2022. We have had a really relaxing time. It’s potentially a hotel where families might bring children but largely it’s couples and has a rather adult vibe to the whole place. It’s a short Tuk Tuk ride away from Galle. That’s where you will get really good quality food. The Sri Lankan food here on the menu is its greatest strength. Each room has a Veranda and sea view which is just charming with many Sri Lankan sites to see such as monkeys monitor lizards mongoose and a wide variety of superb bird life. The restaurant lounges are absolutely lovely and I cannot say enough of the level of service which is quite superb staff are incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. It is also extremely easy to get about by Tuk Tuk down to the beach which is very pleasant kilometre and a half away and there is a lovely walk around the local jungle and rice paddies where you will come across local residents. I cannot recommend this place highly enough if you really want to have a deep relaxing experience. However if it’s more the backpacker experience you’re seeking that’s just available down on the main road a kilometre and a half away as is the beach. The one disappointing thing about this area is the uncontrolled development along that road however there are one or two notable cafés and beach club such a been picked out by Tripadvisor which I would highly recommend however there is an awful lot of tart and grubby looking establishments which somewhat spoil the area in a way. Goal itself inside the thought is an absolute treasure however so you pick and choose and you will have an absolutely lovely time.…

I sent an email and asked for travel agent rates and as my client found a better deal online asked the hotel about the rate difference. It was so huge, USD 60 per room per night. I understand that sometimes booking engines have promotions, but still many hotels still try to give agents a better rate and try to work with them. This team were rude and very unprofessional and it was my first time trying to get them a booking. Said they are not really interested in working with agents. And I told them that I am going to share my experience as a review. When I checked with some travel agents I was told by many this is the case. Sad and very unprofessional I thought. We all have to come out of these difficult times together.

A super high quality hide away on the top of a Mountain with magnificent Ocean and forest vieuws. Extremely kind and service oriented staff and dito restaurant. They really go that extra mile. The accomodation is really worth your visit. We stayed one full week and for sure will come back om our way to Colombo.

Would really recommend the massage here - it’s in a great location - high up, surrounded by trees looking down on the beach in the distance. The treatment room has an open side so it couldn’t be safer in these Covid times and they use a fan to keep you cool, but the best thing is Nuwan, he provides the perfect professional massage - I booked again, after my first session with him - his technique was she perfect mix of pressure to ease the knots and long flowing strokes.

To encapsulate the whole stay it was outright wonderful. Waking up to beautiful views on the balconies every morning before going surfing is just the perfect way to start a day. The selection of breakfast is great and everything i tried tasted exceptional. The staff is lovely and are always there to make your stay as plessent as possible. To get from the resort to the beach is no problem at all and the surfing destinations are no more than 10-15 minutes by scooter. To finish of i couldn't have been happier with my stay.
