A belated review of this fabulous private villa our family stayed at for Christmas 2019. Very spacious and ideal for the likes of our group - 3 generations - with expansive indoor and outdoor space and garden, wonderful pool and large rooms with en-suite. Set up in the hills a short tuktuk ride from the beach and Galle. Jaya was a wonderful host and chef - we really didn’t want to leave and made for the best Christmas ever.
Tabula Rasa Villa, what a serene place to stay! It is a beautiful villa with very stylish decoration and spacious ensuite bedrooms. The owners have created a luxurious place to feel at home right away and relax from your journey or trip around Sri Lanka. The outside lounge area was our favorite and the children loved the pool. A special thanks to Yaya who took perfectly care of us, very tasteful lunch and breakfast. The villa is the right place to start or end your Sri Lankan holidays. Beach is nearby (10-15 min by tuktuk), Galle Fort is worth to visit and the cycle tour is a must-do! You can also check out the nearby resort of the same owners, Tabula Rasa Resort, beautiful!
Remote, yet conveniently located. Perfect hide-away to disconnect from the static of day-to-day-life, and reconnect with one's self. Unpretentious in it's luxury and casually refined. Serene. Tranquil. Beyond expectation. But a few of the things that come to mind when I consider my stay at a beautifully restored colonial villa tucked into the outskirts of jungle and rice paddy fields along Sri Lanka”s south-west coastline. I'm a “digital nomad” - so needless to say, I've stayed in accommodations that cover the full spectrum of where one might find themselves while traveling...throughout the States, Europe and now Indo-Asia. I'm also a practicing “yogi”, so the ability to sink into my practice (both on and off the mat) is a high-value asset to me when I'm on the move. I'm always looking for pockets in this crazy world of ours that offer up a place and space where I can be both plugged-in and un-plugged - on my own terms, in my own time. I have found such a place here. If you want to “get away”, yet stay connected - Tabula Rasa Villa needs to be your next destination spot.…
What an amazing hotel! After traveling around in Sri Lanka, this was the perfect place to relax for a while. The beds are so good and the water pressure is the best we’ve had in Asia. It’s so nice to have a good hot shower after a long day. I love how passionate the owners are, they renovated the villa themselves and are building a brand new resort close by. Chapeau! Anouk and Arnoud thank you for everything, you made our stay unforgettable.
