Fabulous staff - always welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable rooms. Great leisure facilities. Food that is the best we have ever had anywhere and always served with a smile. Beautiful surroundings. We love this hotel for a relaxing few nights away and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I have been using this hotel over a number of years. My experience on this occasion was very unpleasant. Firstly I was assigned to room 252. The noise from the gym echoed all the way through my room. This was on going until 7pm. Then the noise from the trains outside was thundering through the room. To top this my...

From the reception staff to the restaurant staff, everyone was very professional and yet very welcoming. We had a slight problem with the room, and within minutes we were given a different room, which suited us both. Bedding sparkling clean and excellent quality cotton. Duvets nice and warm. Loads of soap and shower gell. Breakfast simply perfect in a nice...

The hotel is situated in an attractive village just outside Carlisle: just below the hotel, there is lovely steep-sided valley of the River Eden, with excellent walks along the river. The station is also just below the hotel with (infrequent) trains to Carlisle and Newcastle. We stayed here for several nights, with an 'Executive' room. The room (244) itself was...

Nice place, warm and cosy 😀 But yet the staff! Ordered two roast beef dinners & local burger. Momentarily later, the same young guy whom took the order, came back to ask if they were chicken or beef! And then so on! Not very friendly, not very skilled! Sad to see in this day and age! 😞

We dined here as a group of friends and it was fine although not quite as we'd expected. The surroundings are pleasant enough although I found that the service was quite staged and the staff, whom were friendly enough, lacked experience of the food and drink that were on offer. The food was fine and not bad value, there was...

Stayed twice on the way up and back from North Scotland. Reception pleasant and informative. Room executive and of good size had small balcony. Clean good toiletries bed needs a thicker topper. Note call for fresh milk - nice touch. Evening meal ok but expensive. Second stay, had a disturbed nights sleep with the service duct between bedroom and ensuite...

This hotel is situated in the lovely quiet village in Wetheral. From the train station it's a two minute walk up a small hill. Our room was small but had everything we required. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. As other people have mentioned the hotel has function's at the weekend and can be very busy...
