We stayed here for one night whilst touring southern Sicily. It was easy to find and occupie a lovely hilltop location. On arrival we were met shown to our room which faced onto a small courtyard before parking our car away on a separate car park. Our welcome could have been warmer, not that the young man was unfriendly, but... More

We, a family of four, stayed at Baglio Lauria for 5 nights in July 2015. The agriturismo is very remote and at quite some distance from the next nice town, Agrigento. The place itself is wonderful - a well looked after garden with nice flowers, a beautiful pool and simple, but clean rooms. We had a room on two floors... More

I almost don't want to write a review because I don't want it to be too full the next time I go to Sicily. It was truly amazing. Absolutely beautiful. An authentic Sicilian experience with a couple that is incredibly kind and welcoming. Their English is pretty impressive for the region! Also make SURE you get some of their homemade... More

We choose this agriturismo as a stopover between Syracuse and Agrigento, the Valey of the Temples. We rather stay at the countryside after a day's sightseeing than in a busy crowded city. Although we had navigation in our car, extra separate navigation equipment AND a smart phone with google maps, it took us a lot of time to find this... More

This is a truly beautiful and charming place - wonderfully relaxing. Is still a working farm and the olives from the farm are the best we have ever tasted! The pool has beautiful views across the olive groves to the next farm's vineyard where the wine at dinner was from. Really characterful buildings, with charming rooms - you really get... More

I found this place on the Agriturismo.it website. We had a stunning room looking on to the courtyard of this ancient Franciscan monastery which was converted into a farm in the mid 19th century. After a few days on the hot highways of Sicily, this was the perfect refuge for reading, swimming in the pool, drinking local wine and eating... More

If you're looking for a setting adjacent/walking to a host of touring activities.. keep looking.. but if you are in a relaxed mode.. and you can: 1.drive to ruins, beaches, small town markets; 2. sit for an afternoon or two or three under an arbor reading.. talking with friends, or sit by a pool diving in at will; 3.take in... As farms go this is very basic but won me over after interacting with Lilly, the very enthusiastic wife of the owner. She is a good hostess and very helpful with directions, which are sorely needed out in the country side ( where it's not always the best bet to follow the GPS). We were given the last room which... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Baglio Lauria, an ancient hermitage of Franciscan monks who called the property the "Crucifix" was purchased by our father, Paul Lauria in the second half of the nineteenth century, following the unification of Italy. The company of about 50 acres, originally to address the cereal-livestock, is now cultivated with vineyards, olive groves and almond orchards, and from them we get a great extra virgin offered to all our customers friends. Baglio Lauria is situated on a plateau about 300 meters. sea level, in the municipality of Campobello di Licata (Agrigento), an agricultural center dating back to 1600. The large business center, the eighteenth-century origins, after careful restoration is now used as the reception of those who want a period of rest, in sunny Sicilian countryside, enjoying the island's traditional dishes, prepared in the company by its owners. ... more   less
