Room clean but quite small and so very badly dated in decor and in desperate need of some refurbishment. The staff tried hard to provide a good service but everything seemed to be like stepping back in time. It is such a shame this hotel is lacking some real tender loving care. It has the benefit of being in a...

This hotel must once have been a beautiful place to enjoy food, drinks and an overnight stay. However, it now looks drab and tired and is so very in need of a makeover. I simply cannot understand how they feel It acceptable to charge £79 a night (stayed for two) for a room that looks like something out of faulty...

Grand looking Edwardian building. Unfortunately looks like it hasn't had any kind of update since Edwardian times. Room is small pokey with a dodgy rickety tiny double bed. And a seriously dated en suite with dirty faded badly fitted Lino. No complimentary little bottles of shower gel etc. Just mucky half filled bottles on the wall. Definitely not worth the...

We arrived at The Ripon Spa Hotel on a cold and damp Sunday evening after having to be transferred from our own hotel following a major power cut. Even though I imagine the arrangements were made at very short notice, we enjoyed a really warm welcome from very friendly reception staff and on our arrival at our room we were...

Stayed for one night, a Saturday. The hotel was a little tired. Room had some nice features , a good size bathroom ,nice towels. Bear in mind we stayed in November; had a wasp dying behind curtain, also heard another guest with same problem .Both rooms cant have been clean behind the curtains. During our stay staff was excellent; with...

Visited this hotel for Sunday lunch today (13th Nov). Have stayed here many times but this was our first visit for Sunday lunch. Food was superb, service was excellent. We will be back, sooner rather than later.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the heart of Ripon and there is plenty of parking available at the hotel. There are some croquet lawns to the rear, and we were fortunate enough that the World Gateball Championships were on during our visit. It was interesting to learn about the game from the Japanese experts and it's...

Our second visit to this once grand old hotel battling bravely to be relevant for the modern traveler. The huge restaurant was only used for breakfast ( which incidentally was very good ) and a lift that can only take one plus a bag. Dinner was in the attached bistro ( again not at all bad and good value). Very...

The hotel does not quantify having a designated restaurant , as from day to day all the 3 function rooms overlooking the gardens are required for different meetings , functions etc . The bistro has commenced a new menu today , looks great ! Come battle once more you wont be disappointed .

For I treat I decided to take my wife to this Hotel for Sunday lunch. I knew the hotel well having played the piano there for many functions, but I had never eaten there before. The lunch was first rate, a great choice , beautifully cooked and professionally presented. The experience was immeasurably improved by the beautiful tasteful background piano...

Sunday lunch is always popular , especially with our resident piano player Nick , who plays each Sunday . The served lunch in the ballroom is always an experience to savour .
