We had a lovely stay at Melbourne house. Very friendly and welcoming, clean, and excellent location for exploring both Bakewell and neighbouring areas. Breakfast was lovely, internet fast and parking easy to access.

Lovely hosts - even lent to us a book of local walks.. we had a great walk to Chatsworth (with a slight detour to Beeley for a pint at the Devonshire Arms) and they were happy with us leaving the car for a couple of hours once we had checked out so we could do a little shopping. Nice room - comfortable and cosy, and a recently furnished modern bathroom with a easy to operate shower. The decor throughout the buildings is grand. Great breakfast - without doubt the best full English breakfast I’ve had at a b&b.. and arguably anywhere. Good location. The Rutland Arms is just down the road.. nice to sit by the fire and have a pint of Jaipur.

Great accommodation, well maintained, tasteful furniture, comfortable bed, friendly and welcoming hosts, and Marie cooks an excellent breakfast. We will come back if we go back to Bakewell. If you go out for diner during the busy season, my advice is to book a table at the restaurant of your choice.

Marie and John are very welcoming. We had room 2 which was away from the road and very comfortable and quiet. 5 min walk to centre. Breakfast fab. Good parking. Very clean and would highly recommend staying here.
