Booked for 2 nights, but checked out after 1. The staff didn’t want to know why, and really didn’t seem to care. I Was put in what is described on the website as a “luxury studio”. The word luxury must have been lost in translation somehow, as the room appears to be little more than a converted shed. Certainly not...

thepeacockbakewell, Are we speaking the same language, at The Peacock Bakewell, responded to this review

I actually believe 100% that DWOODS has got himself lost in translation with this review.... When the guest requested if he could check out after one night with Sandra, a member of staff who was on duty that morning, who I will stress right here right now, is as polite a girl as you will find, and after speaking with...

Came here based on trip advisor reviews. Great little pub, centrally located with a real buzz of atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon. A little pricier than those in similar positions although we don't mind paying extra for quality, which we received. I ordered ham and cheese panini, great choice but personally too much cheese meant I could not really taste...

thepeacockbakewell, Gran's are a speciality, especially, at The Peacock Bakewell, responded to this review

Good Old Trip Advisor pulls it off again with a lovely post from flowersinthewindow, which coincidentally the Peacock has, and allegedly as nice a window display with the magnificent floral spread you will find in Bakewell - especially during the summer months. Your comments with regard to the Hot Steak Sandwiches are heard loud 'n' clear, but we prefer to...

Having made a few trips to The Peacock Inn, I decided to write this review... because without a doubt this place offers the best bar menu going...more like Restaurant quality. Delicious food beautifully presented. If you're looking for a good pub, serving cracking good meals, I would definitely recommend coming here. Great atmosphere, great staff... Landlord a real character...reminds me...

Stayed at the Peacock in Bakewell and had a lovely time. Location is perfect right in the heart of the town - very close to the lovely river. Room was great - a family room that I booked as a twin so my mum and I had a double bed each with a nice bathroom in between. Had a very...

I booked a room at this hotel over the telephone and was advised it was a bank holiday that night so the tarriff was 120 pounds paid in advance. Quite unbelievable really - the guy from Down Under comes on Trip Advisor and blames the Peacock because he got a parking ticket - nothing like passing the buck I guess. The bad mistake wacazac was you, as you simply can't read or are plain stupid, as for one, no one sent you anywhere in the direction of the car...

I stayed in this bed and breakfast on business late July and can say this is one of the most welcoming and comfortable stays I have ever experienced. The food is incredible (especially the steak pie) and as for the staff, I wish I could find more like these! Also the bed was like a cloud, the air-con was a...

Sam - Thank you for the lovely comments as we fed and watered you well, and as an added bonus kept you cool in the still of the heated night - it was hot for a period back in July, so your comments are well appreciated! All, at the Peacock in Bakewell - although not the Best Pub in Derbyshire,...

We arrived on a wet evening and had booked a one night stay and group dinner. I could not get the shower to work so re-dressed and went to the bar for help. So you come on Trip Advisor davidgriffiths and condemn us because you don't know how to turn a shower on and you can't run a tab, and for that reason we are awarded one star.... ....you even go further and inform other potential guests to stay somewhere else - this in the electronic age is your prerogative and I guess...

we called in on a very wet bank holiday Monday, gorgeous food. We both chose from main menu, I had Chilli, very nice presentation, not boring mince but proper chunky beef chilli. Hubby had the steak pie, excellent presentation and packed full of meat. We will be back!!
