I've been coming to The Peacock for some years and what a great place it is. I spontaneously brought my mum & dad-in-laws to Bakewell today (Sunday 8th) I turned up unannounced and requested a table for four at about 1.20pm. The place was busy,...More

Response from thepeacockbakewell, We do actually do good work! And it's hard! And we're worth it! at The Peacock BakewellResponded 11 October 2017

Not only do we thank you for choosing the Peacock on many occasions over the years niked382017, we embrace the fact you have now introduced your in-laws to our humble abode and they in turn have enjoyed the Peacock experience shall we say! When food...More

The Peacock is in a good position in Bakewell, with a small private carpark (which can be very hard to get out of in the morning), but also a larger carpark across the road. The food is excellent. The room though very small and painted...More

Response from thepeacockbakewell, I can be a very sarcastic person, (funny too) and sometimes people take every word I say literally, at The Peacock BakewellResponded 2 October 2017

We thank you for your review Eileen M, but in all honesty I feel, and having met you, I feel you are, and were a hard nut to crack. A three star rating for very good hardly seems applicable, but not to worry as you...More

Lovely traditional pub serving delicious fayre, I chose the steak and ale pie and it came with chunky chips (optional for an extra £1.50) and it came with fresh veg including mange tout and a mini glass of beer. Delicious and good value. Could have...More

Response from thepeacockbakewell, Well, I never felt more like singing the blues, at The Peacock BakewellResponded 18 September 2017

Thanks for the post Alliecat104, despite your condemnation of Guy Mitchell - fyi we were just having a bit of fun at the time with Bluetooth playing a few obscure tunes over the Jukebox via bluetooth, but I get it! The food was good and...More

Good large portions here and good well made and locally sourced grub! However one staff member when we addressed her about getting some water as the dog bowl was empty replied with you'll have to get it yourself from the toilets!!!!! Just had she had...More

Response from thepeacockbakewell, It's not blaming the victim. It's not anybody's fault. They just did something that didn't work, that's all, at The Peacock BakewellResponded 8 September 2017

Not only do I find your comments re; the water issue disappointing rosspro123, it is I who feel you should be embarrassed for your post. We, by your own admission served you "Good large portions... and good well made and locally sourced grub!" and let...More

We travelled 1hr 10mins by bus to Bakewell. We knew it would be busy on Bank Holiday Monday and a job to park so caught the bus. Our favourite pub in the village WAS the Peacock... Having stayed there for a long weekend on 2...More

Bloody Hell brenstravels you really do need to get a sense of humour, as yes it was packed (again) at the Peacock and on a Bank Holiday!!! We were just trying to break the ice, under a stressful time for customers, as I personally fully...More

Hello Luke, as Christmas is a busy time in Bakewell and the Peacock, I would always suggest booking a table, so you aren't dissapointed if we are, as often is the case very busy! Hope that helps!
