Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My boyfriend and I wanted a quiet relaxing weekend away! ... we didn’t quite get what we wanted. The reception staff weren’t overly pleasant. There’s no lifts in the hotel. The music was banging till all hours we couldn’t get any sleep and the staff couldn’t care less. Wouldn’t return.

So just spent New Years weekend in Portstewart and the Anchor bar is still the best in town. Group on Saturday night where amazing and made sure that despite restrictions we were all entertained. Special mention to Anna who remembered our drink order when we returned on Sunday. That level of service and attention to detail is hard to find these days. Both bar staff and door staff make this place the most accommodating in the area. Well done for having best staff in town!!

We stayed with our friends on New years Eve, we were made to feel welcome by receptionist. Our rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. We dined in restaurant, food was great and staff very attentive. Can not find a fault with this complex. A special mention to Joan the receptionist really lovely person.

All aspects of our visit were excellent. Well looked after by friendly staff. A busy place but standards are maintained. Plenty to do in the town and general area. A very enjoyable visit, which we hope to repeat.

We were treated like royalty from the time we arrived to the time we left (even got waved off as our taxi departed). Superb customer service from Joan and her team. You can tell it's a family run business and that their staff are treated well. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff and even though I arrived late for the evening meal that had been booked they arranged for us to eat later. I am told the salmon melted in my companions' mouths, I can vouch for the quality of the garlic mushrooms stuffed with cheese and the crispy fluffy chips. Staff came in to tell us that a big crowd was arriving to the dining area at 2100hrs and we choose to take our drinks into reception for a while. Wine was taken up to our rooms, our cases which weighed a ton each were delivered up and down the stairs as there isn't a lift and our rooms were on the 2nd floor. The whole hotel, including the bedrooms was beautifully decorated, very glamorous yet tasteful. The rooms and en suite bathrooms were spotless and immaculately maintained. The beds, duvets and pillows were beyond words ... ultra comfortable and pristine in appearance. I was slightly concerned about possible noise outside one bedroom as the youngsters were queueing up under the window, but as soon as the window was shut and the thick curtains drawn, there was nothing but silence. And the breakfast ... wow, just wow! Impeccably presented and absolutely delicious. No grease in the Ulster fry, a lovely vegetarian choice and attentive service throughout. I truly can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The only issue would be the stairs for someone with mobility issues but other than that I cannot find a single thing against it. We will be returning next year, hopefully for a much longer stay ... I'm already looking forward to it!

Stayed for two nights. Jean and her colleagues were so friendly and the accommodation was lovely. A great bar and bistro and the location is ideal for the many cafes and restaurants that line the Main Street. Highly recommended.
