Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely hotel, bedroom spotless and bed comfortable. The food is very tasty and the portions generous. Waiting staff are all pleasant and helpful , under the watchful eye of the restaurant manager who is a hands on man and very efficient. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts, cheese and hams. The fry up was good and I asked for a pot of decaf coffee which actually tasted like coffee! Very nice place to stay as its located in a convenient spot and the coastal drive and giants causeway are handy to get to.

Thank you Y4692KGhelenm for your lovely 5* review. It is lovely to read you enjoyed your stay. We have previously looked at fridges in our rooms but did not have the area for them, but will certainly consider your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to review and hope to see you again.

Our first time visiting The Lodge Hotel in Coleraine, my wife and I had a very enjoyable three night stay this week - Monday to Thursday 8th to 11th January 2024. Living in Belfast we considered the location to be ideal for a leisurely drive and a suitable location for daily trips to other North Coast locations. Classed as a 3-Star rating (presumably because it doesn’t have the obligatory pool etc.. for 4 or 5 Star rating) – this 3-Star rating does not do justice to this venue. The quality of the hotel from reception through to bedroom and dining is superb and top class. The bedroom interior and bathroom was better than some higher rated hotels we have stayed in and the comfort of the bed and pillows was amazing – something that is extremely important when in our 70s. And it was quiet at night for a restful sleep – again important to us. The staff we encountered throughout the hotel from cleaning to dining and bar and reception could not have been more pleasant or helpful. And as for the evening menu – a superb selection and we were impressed with every selection we made - top quality food – including desserts. The selection at breakfast was equally fabulous and set us up for our days out. This is an amazing local hotel – if words such as spotlessly clean, comfortable, great location, attentive staff, quiet, amazing food, value for money deal matter to you then you will be very glad you chose to stay at The Lodge – we certainly are glad we did and we will be back. George Larmour (Belfast)

We come to this bril Hotel 3/4 times a yr food fantastic but what brings us back is the staff. Just can’t say enough nice things about them all. So welcoming hotel is clean atmosphere relaxing especially with grand children never feel they are in the way. You can sit and relax in the lounge we simply think it’s the best in the area. Would recommend the Lodge to everyone who wants a relaxing atmosphere with fantastic food and staff that go the extra mile. WONDERFUL

First time at this hotel and what a great weekend. Food and rooms were all of a very high 3* standard. Staff are amazing. We attended the NYE ball and had the best nights entertainment and food. Can’t wait to return with family next year. Thank you Lodge for starting 2024 with a bang.

Staff and food in hotel was fantastic as usual. Entertainment was very poor for New Year’s Eve. Our weekend was ruined by bad singing and totally wrong song choices for a New Year’s Eve party. There was songs from the 30s,40s,50s and 60s and poor attempts at that. This below standard was not acceptable for the lodge. All in all very poor. Currently awaiting for an explanation from manager and seriously would have too think twice as to whether or not I return next year.

THANK YOU JOHN FOR YOUR DETAILED FEEDBACK ON YOUR RECENT VISIT. I AM DELIGHTED YOU FOUND OUR FOOD AND STAFF FANTASTIC. OUR DUTY MANAGER EXPLAINED SHE WOULD CONTACT YOU IN A COUPLE OF DAYS ONCE SHE HAD SPOKEN WITH OTHER GUESTS WHO ATTENDED OUR NEW YEAR'S BALL. AFTER SPEAKING TO REMAINING GUESTS WHO CHECKED OUT YESTERDAY, THERE WERE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING MUSIC OTHER THAN A LADY WHO WAS PART OF YOUR GROUP. PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APOLOGIES THAT THE MUSIC WAS NOT TO YOUR TASTE AND WE DO HOPE THIS WILL NOT DETER YOU FROM VISITING OUR HOTEL AGAIN.
