Visited this place with a group friends for a meal and was very disappointed. The place is very run down, the decor is very shabby and dated. The food was basic and not very good. The service was extremely slow. Overall, it was not an enjoyable evening. We will not be back.

Have been going to the Fir Trees throughout the years as I live within the area. My family and I went for a meal booked weeks in advance for my grandmothers 70th birthday meal. It was anything but pleasant. Table booked for 3, seated in no time, ordered our meals there was between 20-25 of us in total, the place...

Sunday lunch. Carvery. Really good. Eight people in my party and everyone had a great meal. Staff very helpful. Another good Sunday lunch. Great to see hotel busy. Talking to other people having lunch and they all enjoyed their lunch also.

We booked a single and double room. Day 1 there were no staff on the bar and lunch menu tasted like it had come out of packets. We were given the sweet menu but staff took so long coming back over that we gave up. Double room sweltering, single was freezing. Neither could be controlled. Day 2 and the breakfast...

Stayed for 4 months (3-4 nights per week) for work. Fine hotel, cosy rooms, excellent food. Tried nearly the whole menu and never disappointed. Quiet rooms. Staff are very nice and friendly and got to know bar staff like sean, aoife, danielle, laura. Good rate on rooms and if back for another project in the local, would have no hesitation...

Had my handbag stolen in this hotel while at a family function, when we complained we were told that other people had items stolen the same night. When we asked to see the cctv they made excuses that they couldn't access it, or then they said they couldn't work it and last of all they said that the cctv wasn't...
