We stayed 3 nights after finding this on trip adviser under "romantic". The chateau was so beautiful and the hostess so wonderful and helpful! We were the only ones there and it felt so peaceful and gave us the perfect spot to drive from for Too many places to see in our short trip. We threw out our original agenda...

My sister and I stayed st l'Herissaudiere for two nights at the end of March. It was rainy and cold, but our trip could not have been better. Claudine was a superb, elegant and extremely well informed hostess. On her advice we visited three chateaux that were relatively close by, and her summary of the salient points about each was...

My mother, sister and I spent 3 lovely nights in the Chinon Suite. Claudine could not have been more kind, welcoming and helpful. She gave us wonderful recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat delicious meals. The grounds are gorgeous! The pool was inviting! The room was spacious and charming and Claudine took great care to prepare the...

We are a family of 5 and enjoyed the family suite for 3 nights. The chateau is beautiful, well-maintained inside and out, and in a quiet, country setting. It was a great place to return to at the end of a day touring the area castles and enjoying some cycling. Our kids were happy to return to the heated pool...

A lovely chateau, with a nice outdoor space where the kids could make use of all kinds of games (table tennis, mini pool, tennis etc.). Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful surrounding, and the room we staid in (the suite Chinon) was perfect for a family, given the separate kids space. The beds were very comfortable and the view...

We recently spent 3 nights at the Chateau for my husband's 60th and were not disappointed. Madame Claudine DETILLEUX was a perfect hostess with a wealth of knowledge of the area and gave us suggestions based on our preferences. Without her help we would not have enjoyed the region as much. The days were filled with a lot to do...

What is most striking as you turn onto the path leading to l'Herissaudiere are the sunflowers fields . Then the path divides and for the gites you pass along a wonderful wood of ancient sequoias ,and a carpet of wild cyclamens, In response to Wurlitser's review , we actually stayed in the cottages for our 2 week stay at l'Herissaudiere...

My wife and I spend 4 days at this superb French Chateau, it was well above our expectations. We were perhaps fortunate that we visited at the end of summer and had the Chateau to ourselves but even with other guests we're sure the visit would have been just as exceptional. What make the difference is Madame Detilleux attention to...

We visited Chateau de l'Herissaudiere for 4 nights in early September and were delighted and charmed though it was not easy to find, even our GPS was rather perplexed! But it is worth the effort. We stayed in Chinon, which was a light and spacious room equipped with everything required. The outdoor swimming pool was really warm and there was...
