This Hotel rates itself as 3 star, and frankly it should be 4. The self contained apartments are spacious, up to date, extremely comfortable with the most amazing views. The common areas, are very comfortable, and the dining area / lounge bar have a lovely fire place (as does one of the apartments); where you can enjoy a daily fresh breakfast, and if you are lucky some 'free cake' in the evening, courtesy of Anna.
The location - well what can you say. Right outside you have a short walk to a station that takes you into the wonderful world of the High Tatras, which are a wonderful place to visit in the spring and summer, and we cannot wait to visit in the high season with the snow and skiing.
Grand villa in our view is Perfect. Simply perfect, and would be happy to provide anyone any notes / comments / thoughts / suggestions on request.

A place far from the chaotic and frenetic everyday life, quiet and immersed in the nature with a spectacular view on the High Tatras. This is the Vila Grand Residence, located in Nova Lesna, north of Slovakia. It requires almost 2 hours to get there by the Bratislava airport and almost all the trip is done using the highway to Zilina or, from Trnava, the R1 till Ruzomberok (suggested). The staff is very friendly and helps in any situation, the receptionist, Zuzana, is very kind and gentle and serves a perfect breakfast (included in the price) on demand (breakfast menu). The room where we stayed was composed by a living room with kitchen and a bedroom for a max of 5 people. All the main building is wooden made and a small garden in the back, equipped with games for children, offers the possibility to take a coffe or a beer (inside or outside) while the children are engaged outside. In the basement is located a small gym, a sauna with whirpool and a biliard pool. Trekking, climb, ski and fitwalking are the most practiced sports in the area. Reccommended for couple, families and aged people, yes for all.

The Staff a this apartment complex were outstanding, Maria in particular was one of the most pleasant and helpful persons we have met, nothing was too much trouble for her and she made our stay there extremely enjoyable. the apartment was modern and very clean, although to use the shower spray and not wet all the bathroom you had to sit in the bath, it was about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the train station.

We came 2nd time this February. This time twofamilies with small children. We loved even more than first time. I recommend for people that prefers relax and do not need to be in a city center. Great place to stay while visiting Slovakia! Perfect location for hiking in the High Tatras trails, the Slovak Paradise national park and more. 12 minutes drive from Poprad where plenty of restaurants and shopping facilities. The room is quiet, very comfortable, spacious and clean. Breakfast is rich and tasty with a great variety, staff is very friendly, welcoming and gracious.

We stayed here a few years ago but the stay still resonates in my mind as perfect in every way. The villa is well built and the rooms had a great character. The service that we received was genuine and extremely friendly. There was breakfast available (very tasty and the staff went over and above ensuring all guests were satisfied). We ate lunch and dinner at the nearby establishment (can't remember the name) but they were making killer mushroom risotto. The villa was fairly close to the train station from where we ventured to other villages of High Tatras.

We visited The High Tatras with my fiancée just after Christmas and stayed in this lovely Vila. The staff are incredibly nice and friendly, the breakfast is varied, simple but delicious. The bar with the fireplace is great for a end of the day drink. The rooms are spacious. All in all it's highly recommended and we will be returning here the next time we are in this corner of Slovakia.

We loved the large, perfectly comfortable and cozy apartment and gorgeous private relaxing jacuzzi with sauna. The staff is very friendly, willing to assist with almost any enquiry. We enjoyed the stay and we would recommend the Vila Grand to everyone.

Nice and quiet neighbourhood, extremely friendly and very helpful front desk staff, also cleaning ladies very approachable regardless of the language barriers.
Great value for the space, fantastic for families. Bedroom and living room/kitchenette both with a shared balcony. Room has a fridge, electric hob, sink, TV with few channels. Cosy bathroom but could do with a shower screen and bathtubs are quite tall and deep, so if you are short or have a hip problem, it might be a challenge. Sparkling clean though.
Outdoor seating with sunny, small green back garden and play area. Tasty continental breakfast with a few warm options.
Accommodating upstairs kids play area has good amount of toys for various ages but could do with a barrier against the stairs.
For food we recommend nearby 0.3m koliba (Slovak restaurant) rather than Italian restaurant in the hotel next door, with a grumpy waiter. Make sure to take key to the front door between 12-14 and after 22 as the reception and front door are closed.

Small, high quality hotel, located in beautiful mountain scene. We stayed at a fully equipped double room apartment, felt like being in a chalet. Staff was super friendly and helpful - ranging from hiking advice to personalized breakfast, or provision of items we were missing. Great base to hike the area. We would love to come back!
