We visit the Devil's Bridge area a couple of times a year and are always chatting about the sad demise of the Hafod Hotel and think about its glory days as it must have been when it was first built. It is a most imposing, Alpine looking building with tremendous views, but it has to be said, the owners must...

My brother and I have been meeting at the Hafod for a few years now as it is halfway between us. It USED to be rather run down and in need of redecoration. The food used to be poor and the beer not much better... But about 6 weeks ago it got a new owner - and within days BIG...

We were staying in self catering accommodation within walking distance of The Hafod, but had a drink here most days. Lovely seating area outside under a verandah and awning so stayed completely dry; it was warm even when raining so was lovely to be able to sit outside; great view down the valley. We had a meal on the Sunday...

After a longish walk around the nearby waterfalls we pooed in for a quick drink before walking back up the hill to the campsite. Since last year they have had a re-ferb and it looks very nice. A small selection of beers, cider and wines (obviously squash etc). The sofas and chairs are lovely and they have tried to keep...

We stopped off here after the waterfall walk. It was quiet and we got a window seat. The food and drinks we ordered were lovely and dairy free requirements were happily met. The staff were nice and cheerful. The dining area is lovely and makes the most of the internal architecture. Going to the loos is like going back in...

I was so foolish as not to check the Tripadvisor reviews on The Hafod before making my booking. Had I done so I would have found somewhere else. Now, on looking at the reviews after I had made my mistake, I realise that I could have anticipated the problems we encountered. The reviews here refer repeatedly to the need of...

We had done the devils bridge walk and deserved a nice cold alcoholic beverage after for our efforts. This is situated right across the road from the exit so is perfectly located. The hotel itself looks run down but at the time of writing this review I believe that it has only very recently been taken over by new owners...

on the way to devils bridge waterfall, had lunch, (Parsnip soup) children had afternoon scones all very pleased, agree it needs a refurbishment and hopefully the new owners will spend some money on it. tip - it gets busy when the Rheidol train arrives, so once of the train head straight to this place if you want a table. you...

We were overnighting on a horse trekking holiday. New owners and recognise that there is much to be done to refurbish but for the same price as b&bs we had so much more. Lovely room and peaceful despite being at the front near the main road there was so little traffic. Staff were so friendly and helpful with good food...

A stunning location with a unique feel of a bygone age. Welsh style and its unique charm have not been lost, but don't expect a Hilton. Wonderful food and charming service from very obliging staff. The outside eating area is delightful.
