A nice room, nice enough food, but terrible management of COVID policies left us being wrongly ejected from spa facilities. Management accepted no responsibility for misinforming guests on the correct rules. Ruined our stay, we drove away very disappointed, management made no effort to resolve apart from two glasses of fizz if we ever returned, not what you expect for spending the best part of £600 for one night.
We’ve been here a few times now beautiful place. We had lunch this time, we were disappointed how cold the dining room was and the waitress had to go away to ask what the soup was! We weren’t hurried but felt the place lacked a bit of atmosphere the music was so quiet we felt everyone was whispering. The scotch eggs were delicious but the pasta dish was overpowering with fresh sage which was a bit disappointing, fish and chips were very small and a bit disappointing too. Lovely venue worth a visit but not sure I would hurry back.
Just got home from a wonderful night stay at Walwick really could not fault it. From arriving the service was amazing the lady who was on reception throughout our stay was so lovely, welcoming and accommodating she really made our stay, our welcome drink (gin cocktail in the cosy lounge) was a lovely touch. The room was of such a high standard so beautiful with a delightful bathroom. The pool area is small but lovely with beautiful views over Northumberland, deco throughout the hotel so tastefully done. Our evening meal was also fabulous and all the staff again were lovely. Such a hidden gem of a place the best boutique hotel I’ve stayed in and will definitely be recommending to friends and family.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was nicely furnished and very comfortable with a good coffee machine, fridge, safe, hairdryer and iron, and a well appointed shower room, but I was surprised that it was so small without a proper seating area, considering the price. The public areas were also comfortable and clean, all seemed “COVID safe” and the staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious! We were confused about the pool though. It was the standard sized pool and jacuzzi, the steam room was not in use. There was a lovely view from the pool and interesting subdued lighting in the evening. However, there were no adequate changing facilities at the pool or towels provided. It seemed you had to use the robe and towels provided in your room and change there, but we only worked that out after our swim. We had a few short walks to the Black Carts and around nearby villages and would definitely stay again or perhaps in the self catering accommodation, if we are able to walk more of the Hadrian’s wall path in the future.…
We stayed here for our wedding night and we were absolutely blown away. The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout. The room was beautiful with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We visited the spa the following day which has breathtaking views from the pool. The massage we got was fantastic and so relaxing. Everything was just amazing, thank you to all of the staff for making our visit so special. We’ll definitely be back when we can!
