I stayed at the guesthouse for one night after a day on the Usk. I was welcomed on my arrival tea and welsh cakes which was much appreciated. The accommodation was good if a little tired but recommended nevertheless. The welsh cooked breakfast was great and kept me going for the day! A good location for the Usk and the...

My wife and myself stayed at the guesthouse on 20/9/15. We were welcomed on our arrival by the proprietor, and we were offered tea and the most delicious "welsh" cakes. .The accommodation was excellent. . The breakfast was plentiful and well presented. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Band B . Mervyn and Marie Gee

Lovely B&B on the river Usk! Too bad we didn't have a river view (we were under the roof, so from the roof window not much could be seen. But from the other room the view of the Beacons was fabulous! Lovely family that runs the B&B!! VERY helpful in everything, and for any question or info, one just knocks,...

Great to be offered a cup of tea after the drive down! Maxine was very warm and welcoming. I explained we had to get away to Mertyr in half an hour, so the tea and welsh cakes were waiting when we came back down after a quick refresh. She gave us two charming rooms, both very cosy, with a river...

We stayed here for a long weekend, it was charming and kitsch and the owners were very accommodating!! We had the attic room which was spacious and comfortably furnished but the water pressure was a bit weak that far up which meant the shower was weak and a little cooler than we'd like after a long hike!! Breakfast was included...

My partner and I stayed at the Park Place Guesthouse for three nights whilst taking part in the Walking Festival. Maxine, the guesthouse owner, couldn't have made us any more welcome! A much appreciated hot drink and welsh cake offered to, and enjoyed by us on our arrival. Our room (Rose) was perfect. With a lovely comfortable bed, exceptionally clean,...

We spent 2 nights in the guest house to get away from London and explore the national park. I couldn't find anything we didn't like, the food was home-made and awesome (the portion made us skip lunch...), the room was huge and cozy, and Maxine (the owner) was so kind, always looking after us. We'll definitely go back during the...

I’ve just spent a night in Park Place on an impromptu walking weekend in the Black Mountains. I thought it was a great B&B! I thought the owner (Maxine, I see from other reviews) was very pleasant and welcoming. I had a single occupancy single room, which was small but comfortable with en-suite facilities as well as reasonably priced. The...

We really enjoyed our stay at Park Place, only 10min walk to the very pretty town of Crickhowell. The views from the room were beautiful of the mountains. The hotel's old fashioned and quirky style made it feel very homely. The host Maxine made us feel very welcome and gave us a gift for our anniversary, which was very kind...
