It is by chance or design that one comes across a little gem, once in a while, Dilwyn a sleepy little village in Herefordshire,a place I would probably never have seen, but for my wife, whom was tracing her ancestors, believed to be from this region, decided that we visit, & thus a search for accommodation began, having researched many...

We stayed for the 3rd time already at The Great House on our way North. Nomen est omen, the house is great in every respect. Historic (several hundred years old) with well equipped and decorated rooms, gorgeous dinner and breakfast. andTom and Jane are perfect Hosts.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in this wonderful, historic house in the centre of the village. Our room was enormous and characterful and Tom and Jane made us very welcome throughout our visit. Jane's cooking was superb and her sticky toffee pudding with home-made ice cream was almost as historic as the house.

We spent one night at this lovely property and would have loved to prolong our stay. From the moment we arrived we felt 'at home' thanks to the welcome we received from Tom, Jane and their daughter Sophie. The roaring log fire in the entrance hall was so welcoming! The garden added to the beautiful setting with the spring flowers,...

We stayed recently at this magnificent and historic house in the centre of the small and friendly Herefordshire village of Dilwyn, and can thoroughly recommend it. We received a very warm welcome from owners Jane and Tom, and soon settled into the extremely comfortable and spacious accommodation. We stayed in `Sophie`s Room` which was large and elegantly furnished, and with...

We stayed in the Rebecca room which was huge with its own very spacious bathroom with bath and shower. The bed was one of the most comfortable you could get which contributed to an excellent nights sleep. The house is located in the village of Dilwyn and a car is essential to get around the area for sightseeing. It’s a lovely historic house dating back in parts to Tudor times. There were four of us in two twin rooms with a shared bathroom. We had the use of a sitting room off the dining room, which was...

We have just stayed here for 2 nights with family and our hosts Jane and Tom who were very nice. The house is about 400 years old and that is what you pay for. Breakfast was very good and to top itoff Jane makes her own bread from scratch. It is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay.

This beautiful house has parts that are more than 500 years old and Charles II may have danced on the landing outside our room, but there were no eccentricities of plumbing and it was comfort all the way. We had two nights there during the Hay Festival and could not fault the welcome, the cooking (breakfast and dinner) or anything...

I stayed at The Great House a couple of weeks ago when I was in Hereford to attend a friends wedding. From the moment I arrived on the Friday evening, Tom and Jane's hospitality was like I was staying with old friends, not like a B&B. I couldn't have asked for more in terms of comfort, service....and not forgetting the...
