Aamulla pihaan ajoi betoniauto. Tästä olisi emäntä voinut mainita, kun majoituksen varasin puhelimitse. Aamiainen on perus aamiainen - nälkä lähtee kyllä. We stayed on our trip to Mänttä to the Peltola organic farm. For three adults, Kalle's cabin was suitably large. However, it is not suitable for the disabled, as steep stairs are climbed up. Kalle's cabin had its own toilet, but the bathroom and sauna were shared with others. This was told to us advance. Kalle's cabin was equipped with a refrigerator and the opportunity to make coffee and food yourself. Wi-fi worked well and the room was clean. There was no real country idyll in the courtyard this time, as the 200 years old main house is being expanded. In the morning, a concrete car drove into the yard. This could have been mentioned by the hostess when I booked the accommodation by phone. Breakfast was a basic breakfast. If you are looking for a farm house idyll with domestic animals, this accommodation is not suitable for you. There are no animals, and we were also told that the fields are rented to another farmer. The farm has a smoke sauna, which can be asked to be heated for an extra charge. There are also sub-boards and a rowing boat for rent. For those who just look place to sleep this was ok. If you come in the evening like we did (at 7 pm) I suggest that you ask the hostess to make a reservation for a shared sauna and shower in advance. The three of us had a total of 30 minutes left for the evening. Accommodation was cheap, only €110 for three persons breakfast included.

The farmhouse is just outside Mänttä which is a popular destination because of its art galleries. Peltola is a great place to stay if you’re stopping over or passing through on your way northward. It’s pretty basic as farmhouse accommodation often is. But the lake is beautiful, and the breakfast porridge had simmered appropriately. Thumbs up for both.

We were travelling through Mantta to visit the Serlachius museums and decided to try this B&B as the reviews were positive. We were not disappointed, the stay fulfilled the expectations. Our room was not in the large red hostel building, which is next to the main house, but in the smaller contemporary house towards the lake. I has opted for the de-luxe room with a shower, apparently the rooms in the red house do not include showers. Our room was like a regular bedroom in a modern house, with toilet and shower and a fully equipped kitchen with tableware and utensils. The style of the room was a bit bland, the rooms in the red house might be more cozy. It was stormy outside so I decided not to take a swim in the lake, although the water was temptingly warm. If pre-booked, the B&B has a smoke-sauna available. In the morning were were wakened by the house rooster, he started on and off at 4-5 am! The breakfast consisted of mostly own or at least local products and everything tasted very good. The main house is 200+ years old and nicely restored, equipped with old furniture as well. Apparently the big hall is popular for weddings and large group gatherings. This place does not offer lunch/dinner/night-food but will recommend some restaurants in Vilppula or Mantta. We felt welcome and can recommend this B&B for a nice and quiet stay.

A very comfortable bed&breakfast option in a historical farm by a lake, close to the Mänttä art town and all the important museums. The breakfast is simple, traditional Finnish breakfast from fresh ingredients; home-baked pie from seasonal fruit/berries, freshly baked bread, fresh hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, youghurt etc. The breakfast is served in the 200 year old main building, that still has a lot of its original atmosphere. There are various room options available, not fancy, but adequate; some rooms also have a ktichen - and all come with a view towards the lake. You have a free use of the sauna, and you can swim in the lake all year; in winter they have a hole in the ice for a refreshing dip (avanto). There is also a possibility to rent a canoe, paddle boards etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a really enjoyable stay.

This place is not your typical average b&b, this is something more special! We had a lovely stay at this wonderful old granary with lots of rural charm. It is situated nicely on the Vilppula side of Mänttä-Vilppula. The scenery is breathtaking! This place is a must if you have a car or a bicycle! It was quite dark in the room that we stayed in even with the lights on but it didn't bother us once we got used to it. Beware that in the bathroom there is an ecotoilet - it's easy to use, don't worry! The breakfast is served in the old farm house and it was a standard Finnish breakfast, in my opinion; still warm homemade bread, meats, cheese, cucumber, tomato, coffee, tea, juice, porridge, yoghurt, hard-boiled eggs etc. The couple running the place were nice and talkative. You could use the sauna for free and there is also a little lake/pond right behind the building in case you want to go swimming.
