Tim and Linda run a super Yoga center with amazing views of the river and home cooked vegetarian food.
The house has been fully renovated and rooms and bathrooms are in great shape and very clean.
Tim will provide a customised yoga program for your stay as an individual or for a small group.
He has a large yoga studio attached to the house.
I really enjoyed my stay and plan to come back soon.

We stayed at Mulvarra House in the wonderful St Mullins on the River Barrow for one night on September 26/09/15,we arrived rather late having travelled from Hastings East Sussex and driving down from Dublin on the same day,we had rung ahead to inform the owner we may be a little late, and she had kindly told us not to worry.
Noreen greeted us on arrival and showed us to our comfortable, clean room complete with balcony.
We asked directions to the nearest hostelry and she pointed us in the direction of the village green.
It was a short moonlight stroll to "Cool Hand"Lukes pub, sorry I can't remember the name of it,if I could I would give it an excellent review on Trip Advisor.
The pub was busy with a great atmosphere, and even better Guiness, and some really tasty Buffalo crisps thanks Luke they kept the hunger pangs at bay till Breakfast.
We had slow walk back to Mulvarra House, and unfortunately we had to disturb Noreen to get in, I hadn't realised the front door key was attached to the room key!!!
In the morning we opened the curtains to reveal a most fantastic view of the Barrow from our balcony. The grounds around the house are immaculate too.
Breakfast was enjoyable and chatting to the other guests was nice.
The location of Mulvarra House is brilliant for visiting the surrounding area which is rich in history and mystical legend, a visit to St Mullins Well is a must, and the ruins in the old churchyard is the final resting place of many legendary Irish Kings, as well as my wifes forbears [Walsh]R.I.P.
Yes we would revisit Mulvarra House.....next time we'll remember our key!!!

The room had a magnificent view. Linda was a wonderful hostess. The breakfast was wonderful. This place is a fine place to stay, but the owners are still working on parts of it. We had a little trouble with water temperature and pressure. It will be interesting to see what these young owners put into this property in the next couple of years. So much potential here.

Stayed at Mulvarra House for one night. Lovely village. Beautiful location. Tim and Linda seemed nice and hospitable. We had dinner there, lovely pasta, salad and bread and really nice homemade dessert. Breakfast was also fine. Downstairs dining room well appointed.

Problem is with the bedroom. Room was not very clean. Small mirror had coating of dust, same with the tv remote. Wooden sill on floor at door to veranda was peeling and black with dirt. Mattress was awful. Springs had gone and very thin layer of padding on top. Really uncomfortable. Pillows also very thin.In the morning Tim asked how did we sleep and we mentioned the bed. He looked puzzled and asked what room we were in. (He had shown us to our room the night before). We mentioned room 3. (There are only four rooms) No response nothing. He wasn’t unpleasant but just didn’t want to hear it. Pity. The bedrooms need a bit of love - a good new mattress and pillows, carpet and a good clean. The room was shabby not shabby chic. Could be better.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the dinner and breakfast. The dining room was one of the first rooms we updated so it's nice to hear you appreciated that. The bedrooms will be updated in October; we love this place but unfortunately, it is not possible for us to update everything in one go. We're open to feedback and we're sorry if you felt it wasn't received well. We hope to welcome you back at some stage so you can see for yourself how much we love this place.

Lovely, homey B&B. It was a great get-away from city life, down to a beautiful serene place right beside the mystic River Barrow. Had a fantatsic veiw from my bedroom which over-looked the river itself, & a wall of fresh tall trees stood way in behind the river. You could smell the lushness from the greens. The air so pure & clear. The food was fresh & the homemade summer fruit compote with museli & yogurt - I just so loved!! House very clean. Noreen, Founder/Owner/Director of Mulvarra House is a lovely friendly woman & her partner, he is equally so! I got an amazing Indian Head Massage in the Holistic Treatment Room - Very Professional. This is a great place for a Yoga teacher like myself to really unwind from my teaching job & to do my own yoga practice in a place steeped in true nature. Great for walkers &/or water sports people too. Will return 4 sure. Many Thanks Noreen.

Fabulous little gem - well hidden in a less frequently visited part of Ireland. I would absolutely recommend this place for its great views, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. I would specifically recommend it as a base for discovering the region and for anglers in May - the river is awfully close by and I can imagine it can be a most pleasant stay for those who like to fish.

Stayed in Mulvarra House, St Mullins during the Carlow Walking Festival. It was absolutely superb! Had home cooked dinner one night that easily rivaled any restaurant and the breakfasts were divine - mmmmmmm, can still taste that berry compote!! Bedroom balcony overlooked Barrow River and forests with autumnal colour aglow and warm fire in very large comfy sitting room topped it off. Noreen is the perfect hostess, ably assisted in the welcoming department by bundle of joy "Cassie" (wonderful cross bred little dog).

Highly recommended:-)

Linda was a perfect hostess and made all of us feel welcome. We arrived 2 hours late due to flight problems but she was accommodating and served us a great supper.
Several of us hiked to the river and viewed a historic cemetery, Abbey ruins and some interesting sights.
The rooms were well stocked with hygiene needs and very comfortable. We’d certainly recommend this B&B for someone looking for a jewel off the beaten path.

11 of us just stayed at Mulvarra for a Yoga teacher training weekend. We are doing a course with the Irish Yoga Association. Mulvarra was perfect for us. We had it to ourselves. The Yoga Studio is a great size and has fabulous views of the river and rural scenery. The beds are comfy, the house is quiet, the food is just delicious and the hospitality from Linda and Tim is very warm and welcoming. We were able to take walks by the river during our short breaks. We all agreed we would love to visit again. Thank you Linda and Tim. It was wonderful for us.

We had a very enjoyable two night stay at this b+b recently. The room was spotlessly clean with a great comfortable bed, a very good shower though bathroom was quite small but adequate. The room view had a super view from the bedroom balcony down to the River Barrow. We enjoyed spectacular sunny weather for a stroll along the river at the nearby village of Graignamanagh which has a few bars and restaurants. Our hosts of Mulvarra House were very welcoming and friendly, we enjoyed a very substantial breakfast on both mornings, cooked to order. There are tea making facilities and a fridge for communal use but beware what you are prepared to leave in the fridge as it could disappear overnight as we found to our cost! We would have no hesitation in recommending this first class b+b and hope to return in the future to explore this lovely area.
