Like all the best country pubs you may have to make a bit of a detour to get to this inn but it will be worth it. It is set in a beautiful Yorkshire village with Linton Beck and its three old bridges just in front. It would make a great start and finish point to a good country walk....

We ate here for Christmas lunch, and the food was excellent, hard to fault in any way if I could've given 10 stars I would have, the service was quick, there was roaring fire, and overall place looked very inviting on a cold foggy night. best meal we've eaten all year :-)

We stayed for one night with breakfast and dinner. The inn is in a lovely position opposite a green going down to the river. The rooms are in a separate building to the inn - in what looks like a converted stone barn, looks lovely. The room was lovely (the loft) with a bath in the room (separate shower and...

We stayed, we dined and we walked. Maybe not in that order. So this is a bit bitty. We were shown to a very nice room and then wandered down to the bar. There's a good selection of safe regulars and some nice hand pump options. The arrival of the local rugby team (apparently they get a pound off a...

Booked a Sunday night break on their Dinner Bed and Breakfast deal (£119.00) two sharing. Arrived on Sunday afternoon at about 4.00pm. The bar was very busy but in the end the barman was able to get us checked in and show us to our room. The room (The Loft) was very nice and had everything we could have wanted....

My husband and I were both brought up in the dales and visit the area frequently to walk in the beautiful surroundings of 'God's own county '. We usually stay in our own caravan but due to it being repaired we decided we needed to stay B and B somewhere so chose the Fountaine.we have eaten there previously and found...

We had dinner here again and the food was excellent. My slow cooked lamb shoulder was superb, there was loads of meat on it and not a single bit of fat. Staff were very helpful and friendly, only comment would be £5.95 for a miniscule portion of Chocolate and Orange ice cream was a rip off. Only other comment is...

Great location - even in winter. Very dog friendly. Cosy, comfortable and clean rooms. Welcoming, relaxed bar. Perfect for walkers. Food good (but not great). Nothing to complain about! Would definitely go again.

After previous visits that were very good we decided to travel the 30 miles again for lunch. What a disappointment. My wife's meal was inedible. It was taken away and she declined another meal as it taken over half an hour for the meal to appear. I had a chicken breast but I would have called it a chicken bone...
