Booked a Sunday night break on their Dinner Bed and Breakfast deal (£119.00) two sharing. Arrived on Sunday afternoon at about 4.00pm. The bar was very busy but in the end the barman was able to get us checked in and show us to our room. The room (The Loft) was very nice and had everything we could have wanted.... More

My husband and I were both brought up in the dales and visit the area frequently to walk in the beautiful surroundings of 'God's own county '. We usually stay in our own caravan but due to it being repaired we decided we needed to stay B and B somewhere so chose the Fountaine.we have eaten there previously and found... More

We had dinner here again and the food was excellent. My slow cooked lamb shoulder was superb, there was loads of meat on it and not a single bit of fat. Staff were very helpful and friendly, only comment would be £5.95 for a miniscule portion of Chocolate and Orange ice cream was a rip off. Only other comment is... More

Great location - even in winter. Very dog friendly. Cosy, comfortable and clean rooms. Welcoming, relaxed bar. Perfect for walkers. Food good (but not great). Nothing to complain about! Would definitely go again.

After previous visits that were very good we decided to travel the 30 miles again for lunch. What a disappointment. My wife's meal was inedible. It was taken away and she declined another meal as it taken over half an hour for the meal to appear. I had a chicken breast but I would have called it a chicken bone... More

We called at this pretty pub on a damp autumn Monday evening to a roaring fire good beer and friendly staff. We had just finished our second drink and thought it time for some food...then the lights went out!. Candles appeared on the tables very quickly and an explanation as soon as the staff found out what was happening, was... More

Came across this inn by chance, what good fortune. Great surroundings, very pleasant staff and excellent food. The only drawback was that our order got overlooked and we had quite a wait for our lunch. The staff did acknowledge this, apologised profusely, and coffee was on the house. No hesitation in recommending.

I did not stay at the Fountaine Inn but we went there for dinner on our trip to Yorkshire. I don't think a review can do justice to the quality of this pub. The food was delicious. The menu was an interesting mix of classics and more unusual dishes but all pulled off with good quality local ingredients. The local... More

Arriving at 5.30pm on a Sunday we could hardly get into the bar for bodies, but a charming member of staff took charge of us, checked us in in a flash and escorted us to our upstairsroom. It wasn't huge, but had everything we needed, including a very comfy bed, modern furnishings and generous hospitality tray (fresh milk downstairs). The... More

Maybe it's because I'm from Yorkshire but £5 for two cups of tea is outrageous. I wouldn't mind if it came with a plate of biscuits but we'd even had to ask for milk and sugar. How can they justify this price? Later on in the day we had a pint of bitter and a half of Guinness at the... More
