Detailed Reviews
We have previously stayed in this Hotel and would again. The breakfast choice is good and the evening meals tasty. Frank and Michell, the owners, are friendly and a presence in the hotel. Frank dried all our ski gear after a wet rainy day on the slopes, which was much appreciated. Our one quibble this year was the size of our bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, but the room was so small that it could only accommodate the bed and one bedside locker. Ther was only room for a bedside lamp on one side. It would have made a very comfortable single room but is far too cramped to be a double room.

Dear Madame, Thanks for your nice message and your contributuion about the room. This room is a real double room, 14m2. Your impression of a small room is due to the very imposing bed (high quality!) and this room have 2 large windows with exceptionnal vues. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again at our Chaumière. Michèle et Franck

We had a fabulous family stay here during half term. Frank, Michele, Margot and Julien were extremely welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the children are truly welcomed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the food is homely and delicious. The heated pool is a favourite for the kids warm down after a long day on the slopes. The location is quiet and set away from the town centre and lifts, Frank however operates a shuttle to and from the lifts every morning and evening at times to suit you, so there is no hardship there. The beds are 'english' comfy beds to enable a good nights sleep. Wonderful views from the room and a balcony. The hotel has a 'lived in' feel so you are not living in fear your child may damage an expensive vase or scuff paintwork, Frank and his family are extremely accommodating when things do go a little wrong, having been parents themselves, they fully understand accidents happen. Would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting Morzine and hope to be back again soon.

The 3 generations had a wonderful time hosted by Dino and with Nick, a very experienced and wonderful instructor guiding.
Weather was kind with new snow and we split into 2 groups, experienced and less so, with help from Wilkes, another excellent instructor which allowed a 7yr old and some of the rest of us less enthusiastic skiers to get off piste experience whilst the others were more adventurous in the varied and extensive snows of the Porte de Soleil
The re-ranged chalet is of excellent quality with hot tub, sauna, games room and well positioned in Chatel.
Brilliant holiday.

Brilliant family holiday (5 adults) between Christmas and New Year for 4 days skiing booked through simply morzine. Rep was excellent, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel “family” were just great- rooms comfortable and well cleaned; pool was heated and ideal after a day on the slopes; breakfast (hot and cold) and dinner were exceptional every night. But overall the service and people were so helpful and friendly. Guiseppi (?) on the bar was great fun and very efficient. Thanks for a great holiday.

We were here for a week and loved it. Michèle and Frank are so welcoming that at once you feel relaxed. Their whole team works well together and nothing feels too much trouble.
Our room was spacious, the bed really comfortable and our view across the back of the hotel was tranquil.
Breakfast is perfect with lots of choice. I particularly liked starting with a big bowl of stewed apples and yoghurt! We were half board and the evening meals are delicious and plentiful. A fresh salad dish or soup to start then a choice for mains, all of which we enjoyed. The wine also went down well!
A big thank you to everyone for making it such a great stay. We will definitely return.

This is a charming family run hotel. All the staff were unfailingly pleasant, efficient and helpful. I simply don't recognise the experience of another recent reviewer. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever had and the shower good. The soundproofing between rooms isn't great, but we were fortunate in having quiet neighbours throughout our stay. The WiFi is poor. Breakfasts are very good, with hot and cold options as well as the normal array of bread and pastries. We didn't have dinner there, preferring to try different places in the town, which is a 10-minute walk away. The location is excellent - very quiet but accessible. Snow conditions meant we couldn't ski in or out, but there are two minibuses ready to take people to and from the slopes. We would go back if we return to the Portes du Soleil.

We were last here March 2020 and were happy to return with our friends a few weeks ago. Michele greeted us warmly and immediately we felt relaxed.
Our room was large and warm, the bed comfortable and plenty of hot water for showers.
This is a family run hotel and the whole family work together as a team to make sure their guests feel at home and nothing is too much trouble. Even the adorable baby grandchildren make an appearance!
A hearty breakfast to sets you up for the day. On return, enjoy an aperitif and delicious supper cooked by Michele's husband, Frank (who now offers great pizzas). We had a very early start on leaving and were packed off with a breakfast bag each for our journey, much appreciated.
This is such a friendly place to stay and we were happy to be back.

Discovered this hotel on Booking.com and I am so happy that we did. The family who run the hotel are so friendly, the food was fantastic, and the transfer to and from the slopes was perfect. You can ski back to the hotel if you want, or arrange to be picked up from town at the end of the day.
The hotel is just out of town and is an easy ten minute walk if you want to visit the bars in the evening. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the views are amazing.
We visit Morzine often and will without doubt be back to stay at this hotel in the future.
Travellers tip: book / recharge your ski passes at the hotel reception, much easier and avoids the queues in town.

Can’t really recommend this hotel enough. Rooms are generously sized and equipped with very comfy beds.
Lovely staff who are willing to help at all times. Great restaurant and bar area - wine list is great!
Transfers to the slopes are amazing as well.
We booked with simply morzine and they were great in proving free airport transfers and on call transfers throughout the day, great service.
Overall a superb example of a family run hotel.

A wonderful little authentic alpine hotel, ran by a lovely couple and their extended family. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful Christmas week skiing and then relaxing in the hotel in the evening.
The food was excellent and the breakfast buffet catered for everyone. The rooms are charming and provide all the essentials for a short break, with some breath taking views of the surrounding mountains. The small pool provides a welcome relief from the days activities.
A great week with excellent hosts.
