Detailed Reviews
The management and staff are friendly, professional and helpful and do their best to make the stay comfortable. The rooms and hotel in general is very clean and well equipped. The bar and surrounding area has two fireplaces and with the nice seating gives a very cozy feel. The pool area too is nice but the massage rooms are next door so kids can’t fully enjoy what the beautiful indoor pool has to offer. That minor thing apart, everything else was great and chef and staff went out of their way to prepare vegetarian pastas multiple times which was not on menu for us and our son and there were lots of warm gestures. I would easily recommend the place to my family, friends and colleagues.

We recently returned from a fabulous stay in this hotel. The staff throughout are ALL so friendly and helpful . The food was excellent and plentiful. We arrived late and we were greeted with a lovely Charcuterie board and half bottle of wine in our room. Breakfast each morning was relaxing and had a fabulous choice. The view over Morzine from the dining room were amazing. We stayed half board and the dinner was always great, Damian and his staff ensured that we were served quickly and assisted with our dietary likes and wishes… they were so helpful.
The hotel has a shuttle bus which can be prebooked with about 15mins notice, we used it going to The Plenney side but were quite happy to walk the short distance over the bridge to the Super Morzine lift. We rented our skis from Intersport beside it and stored them there which meant no walking around town in ski boots. The hotel also had a boot room.
Mai from reception was excellent , friendly and knowledgeable …she organised our transfers which were seamless .
This is a small but perfectly managed hotel, the rooms were comfortable and in a tradition style. ALL the staff deserve mention, the hotel is extremely clean, the staff so helpful, the spa area was relaxing, the mini bus service is well organised, the food excellent and it has a great location . Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

We returned for the 3rd time and first time with our children. The service was fantastic and the hotel spotless. We arranged a cake and balloons for my daughters birthday prior to our arrival, robes were in our room. The room was a little warm so duvets were changed and temperatures adjusted. The spa was greatly improved. The hot tub was hot and a delight after skiing. The pool had a jet to swim against which my kids loved. Shuttle to and from the slopes was great and convenient . On the last day when the lifts were closed , a member of staff took us to a sledging area and loaned us sledges . Lovely memories in this difficult time

Dear Madam, First of all, I would like to thank you very sincerely for your loyalty to the Dahu. It is with great pleasure that we welcomed you for your daughter's birthday. We are always delighted to participate a little bit in the success of these fabulous family moments. I am particularly touched that you have been sensitive to the evolutions of the spa, we have indeed implemented improvements for this winter season. Once again, thank you for this very warm comment which gives us a smile in the current context. I hope we will have the opportunity to see you again for a fourth time! :) Benoît Heu, general manager Hôtel & Spa Le Dahu **** +33 450 75 92 92

Very typical and hospitable hotel.
Nice area. Great atmosphere, great food. They area able to maintain a high level of quality for decades (first visit was more than 25 years ago).
Staff is really friendly.
Some parts (like indoor pool, bathrooms) could use a little update, but it doesn't lower the value. Great experience.

Good location overlooking Morzine with Pleney in the distance. Walking distance into Morzine to enjoy the fabulous restaurants the town has to offer. We did eat in the hotel restaurant a couple of times but the quality of the dishes was not up to Morzine standard and more expensive.
We would stay again but always on B&B basis. However, the breakfasts were very good with lots of choice and staff who never found anything too much trouble

Last minute decision to head to Portes du Soleil for few days of skiing. Dahu was one of the only hotels of that level with availability. In general, no complaints. The staff was great overall, whether it was the front desk, restaurant, spa or the ski shuttle. I found the room comfortable. The only criticism I would have is there was no obvious place to dry your gear after a wet ski day other than get creative with the bathroom heating. Dinner at the restaurant was nice and breakfast was more than enough. the wellness area is ok, but can get very busy when the hotel is full. I had read some reviews beforehand to know you have to book the sauna / steam room in advance. Having seen the size of the sauna I understand why. However, they should make it bit more clear those are not part of the free wellness area. The only slight negative is the location little bit away from the main area of the village and uphill. Fine to walk to town for dinner and back. However, you do need to cross a bridge, which you would not want to do if you suffer from vertigo. I would not want to do the walk in ski boots.

Poor quality/price rate - Swimming pool and Jacuzzi not warmed up . poor service - Cold Room and not well isolated from noise without any view even if requested at reservation . Food with expired date at breakfast .
Diner was good and the trainees tried to do their best
Saving seems to take precedence over comfort and satisfaction of customers
Will not recommend

Responded 22 Jan 2020
Madam, Sir, I took the time before answering you, because I must confess that your comment deeply hurt me, as it did every member of my team. Everyone who knows me knows how much I care about the well-being of my guests, and this is reflected in the vast majority of the reviews published. Your remarks are all the more hurtful because they do not reflect reality. If that had been the case, I would have listened carefully to implement improvements. The swimming pool is heated to 28°C, which is the recommended temperature from a sanitary point of view and is checked daily. The jacuzzi is also at 28°C when it is not in use and reaches 35°C quickly after a program is started. The room in which you stayed is at the back of the building, in a quiet area. The type of room you have chosen does not indeed offer a view of the village, and unfortunately even though your little note stating "a nice view" was well noted, we were not able either to assign you a room on a higher floor, or even offer you another type of room with a view of our village because our hotel was almost full at the date you made your reservation. All our rooms are heated to 21°C and we have a control system to ensure this. Concerning breakfast, we realized following your message that a type of cheese had indeed arrived on the date (it had not expired). This was a mistake by our supplier, but I would like to stress that it was a best use date and not a use by date. I sincerely regret that you did not share your feelings on the spot, as I would have taken the time to explain all this to you in detail. I will moreover give you a more detailed answer by email to show you my good will. Benoît Heu, general manager Hôtel & Spa Le Dahu **** +33 450 75 92 92

The Dahu is a family-run hotel with great atmosphere, food and facilities for this size of hotel. The restaurant is very good with a nice menu and wine list. The Morzine location is fabulous for both mountain hikes, offroad and road cycling with some classic Tour de France mountain passes nearby. For downhill cycling Morzine must be close to best in the world. The hotel offers free Multipasses with access to all lifts. Even if you are very fit, taking the lifts up or down increases your distances greatly with access to some of the best views in France and Switzerland including Mont Blanc.

We had an incredible weekend staying at Le Dahu. First thing to point out is that the location is excellent for getting onto the Super Morzine bubble, an easy 5 minute walk. If you don't fancy a walk, then the hotel provide a free shuttle run!!
We stayed half-board and it was worth every penny. The breakfast buffet choice is vast, with fresh fruit, homemade yogurt, eggs & bacon, local cheeses, smoked salmon...the lot. The evening meals were incredibly tasty and beautifully presented.
The staff were naturally friendly and looked after our every need and were always good fun, especially Damien.
Our room was very comfortable. Dont expect high-tech gadgetry and fancy decor. This place is old school chalet style, but we loved that and hope they never change it.
All in all, this place gets a 10/10. We hope to return next year and the year after that.
Thanks to all the Dahu staff.

Having stayed at Le Dahu several years ago in the summer we were delighted to return for a week's skiing just before Christmas. The hotel was as splendid as I remembered and the family-friendly environment was very welcoming.
The hotel ran a shuttle bus to the Super Morzine bubble which was very useful and one day it rained so hard that we were soaked to the skin they even invited us to hang our clothes in the hotel boiler room to dry out thoroughly. The breakfasts were splendid and plentiful and I can not recommend this hotel enough.
If I had one complaint, it would be the very cheap toilet paper they supply in the rooms. This is an easy fix I don't understand why it hasn't been addressed before. Perhaps speak to the Farm in town and ask them where they source theirs!
