A really laid back chalet. Most people come along on their own and join in with our really sociable holidays. Young professionals in their twenties and thirties - no kids! During the winter we ski and snowboard, during the summer we do everything from paragliding to mountain biking...

Was slightly apprehensive about booking this as I hadn't done a solo ski holiday before. If you're in the same boat (or I guess sat at the same laptop), please don't be. The team (Margeaux, Karl and led by Dan, with a tiny sprinkling of help from Lionel) make you welcome from the moment you walk in the door to the one you step on your transfer home, feeling like you've known them for years.

In our group, we had a mix of newbies to Hofnar, like me, and people who had been multiple times. The hosts made sure the beer/wine/ breakfast Jager was flowing and there were a selection of evening activities (watching the local ice hockey match, a couple of restaurant/ bar nights and games in the chalet), and plans were made to ski together and/or meet up altogether for lunch.

The chalet itself was large, very clean, and had pretty much everything you could want (Hot Tub, Sauna, Pool Table), with a great location, ~5 minutes walk to the main Super Morzine lift and slightly longer to the hire shop (Hubert Sports), where Hofnar have a locker you can keep your skis/ boots in, and an amazing view straight over to the Pleney piste and lifts. If you don't know the Morzine/ Portes De Soleil ski area, it's absolutely huge with plenty to keep you busy for a week, even when I went in mid april (in blazing sunny conditions).

I want to go back already.

This was my third week with The Hofnar Experience and it never disappoints. The chalet is cosy and spacious, close to town and you feel right at home from the moment you step in the door. Hosts Kristin and Torri are so much fun and as well as cooking amazing food, really look out for you both on and off the mountain. Dan kindly organised a guide for us and we had an insane powder day in Porte du Soleil back country. I love the fact you can rock up on your own not knowing a sole, and after a amazing week of shredding and partying, leave with a whole chalet full of new friends. Have been on a few group tours over the years but no one does it like Hofnar....when can I go back?

I find there are trips you enjoy, but forget and trips that stick in your memory for years to come. My week at Chalet Skade was definitely the latter.

I’ll give you the good stuff up front. The HOFNAR set up is a blast. Its does what it says on the tin, throws a bunch of like minded people together into a well positioned chalet with a bunch of booze, food, snow and a hot tub. But what makes a good set of ingredients a recipe for a great week are the hosts.

Jess and Margaux made me feel welcome and part of mountain life from the moment I stepped though the door to the moment I jumped on the transfer home. Not only did they cook great meals and keep the chalet spotless but also drew the group together for great socialising on and off the mountain.

I have frequented Morzine a few times and it never fails to have everything you need. The resort area is big enough that there is something for everyone’s ability and style. The town is uniquely friendly in its own way and has ample supply of apres bars and restaurants.

There’s a good deal more positive to be said but I think the other reviewers have got that covered. Besides I’m off to book another week at Skade!

Best snow holiday ever! Had such a fun time with a great bunch of people I had never met before. Really recommend this company to anyone wanting a great snow holiday. Dan and Tori were the best of hosts - warning, they are feeders (fantastic home cooked food), but luckily you burn it off on the slopes! They were also great at giving 'local' tips to ensure everyone made the most out of their holiday. The chalet is big, comfortable and clean and only a short walk to the centre. The amenities are excellent, with the added extra bonus of a pool table, sauna and hot tub. Plus awesome views from the chalet and balcony of Morzine. Thank you so much HOFNAR experience. I'll be back.

First visit to Hofnar didn't disappoint. Travelled solo but instantly made friends, you'll have no worries about that! Many times skiing in PDS and as usual the skiing and aprés were brilliant, always choosing a good spot to meet as a group. Jess and Margaux were brilliant hosts, so friendly and helpful, food and drink on tap (especially beer and wine!) which was a huge bonus! They arranged evening meals out at great restaurants, tobogganing and the best bar/club visits so you didn't even have to think!

The chalet is just what you need, good location, traditional, perfect views across to The Pleney and the sauna and hot tub provide an amazing post-ski end to the day. As any good chalet company does, they will arrange everything for you incl. transfers and passes nothing is too much.

If you feel having doubts about travelling solo/couple/small group, don't be you won't regret it at Hofnar and I will most certainly be returning.

I’ve been to Hofnar a few times now and every time you come away absolutely buzzing! If you’re nervous about going solo, don’t be – almost everyone who goes is solo travelling so you always have someone to ski and socialise with.

Jess and Margaux were brilliant hosts who were always loads of fun, really welcoming and always happy to help, as well as cooking delicious meals! The chalet is perfect; lovely and spacious, with incredible views overlooking Morzine (best seen from the hot tub!) and the rooms were clean and have all the amenities you need.

Every day was non-stop fun. You generally spend the mornings skiing through the beautiful mountains surrounding Morzine, and the evenings were out in the many bars and clubs throughout the town. There’s always lots of extra things to see and do like fancy dress, night-time tobogganing and live music!

You will not regret booking it – I’m already booked to go back!

If you are looing for skiing holidays with a bunch of fun, friendly, social people then you need to try this out!! This was an amazing week for me. I stayed in Chalet Skade which was super nice and cosy, you can use their sauna, Jacuzzi (which is outside with a stunning view on the mountain), the location is great, with an amazing view! They have unlimited booze plus really yummy breakfast, dinner and loads of snacks. The host (Kristen) was absolutely amazing, really friendly and fun, making everyone feel part of the family:)
The whole week was organised really well, with loads of social games, sledging, skiing in fancy dress, going out, they make sure you wont get bored.
I think its a good value for money, would definitely recommend it!!

Such a wonderful time with the group I went with. The chalet was clean, spacious, and had an excellent view from the balcony; even if that included the scary bridge!

Have already recommended to all my friends.

The hosts provided tasty, filling food and were a delight to ski and hang out with.

5 stars all the way and hot tub!

The easiest and most fun way to do a ski break is through HOFNAR.
It is so easy to put off solo travel and fear doing new things alone - as a complete beginner, I wouldn't even know where to start to try and learn to snowboard, where to go and how to get there, but HOFNAR made it really easy. A stunning chalet with an amazing view, and lessons, rentals, transfers, food all organised for you. Tori and Kristen went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome with tips and recommendations, delicious cooking and supported the great vibe 24/7 both on and off the slopes. If you had any issues, chances are the girls had already sorted it out. The chalet becomes home very quickly.
Not to mention the brilliant group of people to spend your week with - there was always someone to hit the slopes with, and regrouping in the evening for a hot tub, food, and a dance. Made some friends that will be friends for life.

HOFNAR goes above and beyond expectations, can't wait to be back soon.

Wow what a trip. The Hofnar Experience really was amazing from start to finish.

The only thing I had to sort was my flights. I books a twin shared room with transfers and ski pass through Hofnar.

The transfers sent regular updates via text and email and my ski pass was ready and waiting when I arrived.

The chalet is warm and cosy, my room was clean with a large en-suite bathroom including bath. There is also a hot tub and sauna which is perfect for after those long days skiing.

What really makes this trip is how well it is executed. Our chalet hosts Margaux and Maria instantly made us feel welcome and United the group together.

Breakfast was always ready and waiting in the morning, with a raid the fridge policy it meant you could eat and drink as much as you wanted including make sandwiches for the day.

Margaux and Maria always had a loose plan for the day and sent us a message for a lunch meeting place on the mountain if you wanted to join everyone at lunch. They would then take you around the mountain showing us the best runs in the afternoon.

In the evenings Margaux and Maria would gauge what the group wanted to do and either take us out into town or enjoy a nice evening at the chalet drinking wine. They knew all the best places and we had such a good time.

They really made everything so easy and fun. It was organised but we always had the freedom to do what we wanted.

I would absolutely recommend Hofnar and will definitely be coming again.
