When we arrived I was very impressed. It was a cozy setting and the room was well presented with an amazing view of the piste, directly out of the window which was fantastic. The room and furniture was all wooden and was very homely.
The breakfast was good although not alot of choice but it was passable.
However,
Every morning between 6.30am-7.15am the owners would allow their dogs to run outside onto the piste and they barked uncontrollably for about 10 minutes. This woke everybody up on the rear side of the hotel. I thought maybe it was a one off but it happened all 4 mornings we where there.
The dogs where in the reception area and where very friendly. But the constant barking in the morning was a real shame and was totally unnecessary. I would have given a 4-5 star review if this was not the case. But there was just no need for this... I am unaware if the hotel staff were aware of the issue. My son also asked for some shower gel for the room as the cleaners did not replace it and it was almost empty when we arrived. The person on reception looked at him like he had two heads and gave him a 10ml bottle of crappy shower gel instead of what was already in the room. Also the cleaners tried to clean the room at 8.10am when we were asleep. I think the hotel need to understand that people go to relax and unwind. Not be woken up with excessive barking and/or the cleaners walking in.
The steam room and sauna were never on either, which was a real let down. For £230 a night I would expect to be able to relax and sleep on past 8.30am if I wish too. You could only use the jacuzzi from 2pm onwards. It appeared the hotel was trying to save money on necessities and this was unnecessary.

A real shame as the hotel is beautiful and so is the setting. Also it had underground parking which was good.

Excellent location right on the slope with cable car 1 min walk away , nice room and good food. Only slight complaint is food is a wee bit cold but also very good! The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come again. Bonus is free parking.

Very pleasant stay at this Pension.
First of all the welcome of the owners is very warm. The location is ideal, in the center but both quiet. Pool, breakfast everything was perfect.
Very nice to get up in the morning facing the mountains.

We recommend!

A week in Morzine with the lads
The hotel is directly across from the Plenny death box and there are lots of ski hire shops within a few meters as well .
If you want to access super Morzine you wait out side the hotel and the wee train shuttle will take you across town to the other lift .
Food in the hotel is fantastic , really tasty traditional fair with a lovely fondue one night .
The house wine is good value and very palatable .
What makes a hotel really good ??
The staff , and this one has a complement of friendly staff . Always smiling and wanting to help .

After a day on the slopes you can unwind in the pool and jacuzzi and chill after dinner in front of the wood fire with a small digestive.

All in all one of the best hotels I have stayed in whilst skiing ...

Well done , I will definitely be back .

Had a really lovely holiday at this family run hotel. Yes, it is a family affair but this makes it all the more endearing. Fabulous service in restaurant and bar and magical bedrooms. Cannot fault this hotel. A really wonderful find.

The main problem my three friends and I experienced was total lack of interest by the hotel owners, who were also the managers, in our enjoyment and requirements.

One of my friends on the trip Dave A has already posted in respect of the stale and limited breakfasts. My main objection was the way we were treated which was as unwelcome guests in a private house.

The lady owner showed no interest in us. She sat at the Reception desk all day and never lifted her head up once to greet us as we passed through Reception. She was more interested in playing computers games or attending to her 10 year old daughter.

On our penultimate night, Thursday 23 January 2014, the owners took over the Hotel bar to host a private dinner for friends and family. The atmosphere created by the owners 16 or so private guests in the Hotel bar was to make us feel like intruders. The bar staff were required to wait on the friends and family, to our detriment. One of the bar staff, who in contrast to the owners were friendly and helpful, appeared to have made some error while attending to the private party. The male owner , a very arrogant fellow who claimed not to speak English, shouted at her and made her cry. She was then obliged to serve us with red eyes and tears running down her face. I required all my will power not to intervene at this point and tell the owners what I thought of them.

One of my friends injured his shoulder and could not ski for a couple of days. He asked the owner could she please turn on the sauna and was advised it would cost him €10 to have it turned on an hour early!

Avoid. We will return to Morzine, which is fantastic, but not to "Faulty Towers"

Located opposite the main Pleney lift, the hotel is virtually ski in, ski out. The hotel is well maintained with a lively bar and great cuisine. Evening dining was a very pleasant experience. The room was excellent (with an upstairs for our family room). The staff were very friendly and the facilities are great. The boot room gets a bit tight when busy and the Wi-Fi was passable but overall, a great place from which to enjoy the delights of Morzine

Our family recently stayed at this little gem of a hotel over half-term break in February. We had never been to Morzine to ski and as a family with 2 little girls, we were in need of ski in/ski out. We came upon L'Equipe quite by chance and upon arrival, were delighted with our choice. We travel frequently and usually stay at 4 or 5 star hotels and were rather uncertain about what to expect. We late-booked the last 2 interconnecting rooms, taking a gamble with L'Equipe and were incredibly pleased with the abundant charm and more-than-adequate comfort at this 2-star establishment. It is located a stone's throw from the Pleney ski lift and it is a 2 minute walk to the ESF Children's Ski School (excellent group of instructors and no one knows the mountains and the region better than they do.) The rooms were newly refurbished with a charming alpine sensibility, white pine, pretty textiles and excellent lighting providing both practical light and ambiance. Everything is switch-controlled from the main bed. The bathrooms were new and adequate, impeccably clean (as was the room). Each of our rooms had the capability of sleeping 3; one main bed and one single bed in a pretty pine daybed set-up. The only drawback to the refurbished bathrooms was that the size of the space precluded them from installing a bathtub. I am not sure if this applies to all the rooms or not. It may have been where ours was located. I always find it nice to soak in a hot bath after a long day on the slopes and this was not possible. That said, there is a Jacuzzi and pool (comfortable temperature) on premises and we did enjoy the use of both. There was a beautiful balcony in each of our rooms with stunning, modern (and silent!) sliding glass doors providing breathtaking views to the mountains.

TIP: Take your own toiletries / travel samples with you. The ones offered by the hotel are limited.

The food was surprising delicious; leave it the French to produce fantastic cuisine, demi-pension. The courses were inventive, flavourful and delicious making the stay at L'Equipe a superb value. You know you are in good hands when all the local French ski instructors (old-timers) come down from the slopes for a civilised lunch at L'Equipe's Restaurant and a glass of red in front of a giant fireplace (The hotel guests eat elsewhere in a private dining area in the morning and evening that has an adjoining Salon for relaxation) Btw, don't miss the fondue in their public restaurant If you need some variety, the owners are happy to make suggestions regarding some of the local restaurants and even ring to book the reservations for you. I'm certain that one will not likely encounter service of this calibre at any other 2 star Hotel ANYWHERE!! Just remember to brush up on your French language skills, as hardly any English is spoken at L'Equipe or in Morzine.

The staff was always polite, helpful and professional. The owners themselves were extremely nice and they are an attractive couple in their forties; Patrick and Annabelle. Don't miss the ski trip Patrick conducts each week to Le Mur (The Wall) if you desire some challenging skiing.

This may be a strange complaint, but the ONLY thing wrong with the set-up in their charming open-plan restaurant is that their bathroom needs a large updated modern sink or basin to make it easy to wash one's hands (the current sink is a tiny corner unit and inefficient for the space and number of people using the facility. The bathroom could also use a graceful mirror and perhaps some type of vanity or wall console. The bathroom could be charming, but isn't. This is the only fault I could come up with!! I'm sure that with the refurbishment that is nearly complete at L'Equipe, that the restaurant bathroom willl probably be addressed at some point.

Lastly, a huge bonus for L'Equipe is that they have free underground parking available to their guests. Again, added value to a stay at this cosy hotel. All-in-all, a fabulous 2 Star (should be 3 Star) Find! We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Hotel was really nice and comfortable. Really nice staff and did a good job of Xmas.

Only downside is that they didn’t have a children’s menu. The food was really nice but very rich and kids just can’t eat it every day. They did try to accommodate but can’t really recommend if you have kids.
