Detailed Reviews
This hotel is in a superb location at the foot of the new Prodains lift up to Avoriaz and the huge Porte de Soleil ski area. The hotel is clearly working hard to be the best it can. Rooms were of a good standard, including those with more modern decor and ‘cool’ touches. Everything you could want at breakfast. Dinners were of very high quality and delicious, including vegetarian options. The cocktail hour, outdoors by the heated pool and a roaring fire were a great idea and very reasonable. Hotel owners were gracious, helpful and smiling and, if you are a dog lover, Clyde the Pug will charm you.

We spent only 1 night in this hotel and everything was beyond our expectations. The location is right at the gondola to Avoriaz (3 minutes walk) and we could ski back to the parking in the evening. We enjoyed the pool, great breakfast and generally charming attentions (Bogner amenities, inspirational quote as welcome note, locally sourced food...).

+1
I have just returned from my second trip to Neige et Roc this year. Both stays were fantastic. Sonia helped us arrange a large group trip for 23 people and her support made the trip so much easier and fun.
The rooms were lovely and the feed back from the rest of the group agreed with this. Clean and a good amount of space (I believe some rooms were small but were allocated as people arrived earlier than planned and were given what was available)
I had seen reviews about this hotel being noisy but on both occasions I can’t say I would agree and this was not mentioned by anyone else in the group. The road is not noisy at all, the most you can hear is the occasiona ski boot walking up the hill but at a reasonable hour!
The location was great, the hotel is right by the main lift to Avoriaz but the bus stop to Morzine is right outside. The only watch out would be taxis back that are needed after 9pm as this proved tricky - but Sonia had organised taxi’s for us on the evening we knew we would be late.
The breakfast/ food was lovely and although the hotel does not offer dinner Sonia offered us a Savoyard dinner for the group (it was amazing, and the giant baked alaska was a hit)
Sonia also went out of her way to arrange a second dinner for our group when a local restaurant could not seat us - there a few just along the road. We ate at the pizzeria which also has a bar and that was great!
Several members of the group utilised the spa as did I and it was really lovely, the thermal pool was just what your legs need after a ski day and the hot tub looking up to the mountains was just lovely!
A massive Thankyou to Sonia and her team that looked after us all week, arranged ski passes and ski hire. We hope to revisit next year as a family and I highly recommend!

Rude owners, overpriced mediocre hotel!
This is not 4-star. To be nice I would max give it 3. If you add the poor attitude of the owner, it’s a weak 3.
Location is nearby Podgrain Express, which is good (but be aware, that is neither on Avoriaz not Morzine, it’s i between. In this small village there are no good options for dinner (and the hotel has no dinner), so you need to go to Morzine or Avoriaz. The hotel is located right by the only road, which has lots of traffic to the gondola every morning.
The rooms are OK, but mind you, the whole building is quite responsive, noise. You hear toilets flushing from above, you hear everything in the corridor etc.
Breakfast is not inspiring but probably considered a 3 (but never a 4).
We will never return.
My recommendation to the owners:
• be fair, downgrade to 3 star
• adjust prices accordingly
• change your attitude, make guest feel welcome and appreciated.

Patrick your partner Mrs K gave already a long rubish description and to be fair: stay away from our wonderful place for ever. we apologise to our faithfull and new guests for beeing so direct but it is very unusual to welcome as crazy people as your family,is. we could have displaid the pictures we took from your rooms when you left so that people can understand the kind of disgusting person no hotel owner wish to welcome, It is a long story made short.

We arrived, greeted by dogs who barked at us and my children including my 2-year-old girl who screamed in fear. No word of apology from the lady at the front desk (who arrived after because no one at the front desk permanently) and let her dogs keep yelling at us. She was already there with extreme coldness. Our room was not ready, so we came back later and same scenario with the dogs. I would therefore like to say calmly that it would be better to keep your dogs behind the counter, that we do not have to go through this because we must respect the fact that some people are afraid of dogs and that for a 4-star Pension this is not adequate. The lady feels persecuted, gets carried away and wants to radically cancel our Reservation because her "babies" are part of the place (strange for a hotel refusing animals). That's not the point, I'm just asking that they don't jump on us when they get here. She gets annoyed, calls "the director" who storms in and insults us without even asking us what happened. We finally freaked out and this cowboy wanted my husband to stick him a loaf to collect 5,000 euros in compensation, ready to all the guy!! we should have maybe put the Award there finally...
These people know absolutely nothing about the job; I suggest they do training in hospitality (which is our case) in addition to therapy before welcoming guests because it is dramatic. Through discussions with local people, including former employees, we were unanimously confirmed that the managers of this establishment are not at all frequentable. Just read their responses to negative comments and you will know what kind of individuals you will be dealing with.
Moreover, the location is null, it is not in Avoriaz or Morzine; you are dependent on your car and the Inn overlooks a road. I think they pay to get good feedback it's not possible otherwise. I thank them because we found an excellent Pension in the heart of Morzine with super friendly and welcoming people (the base in a service trade), which is more for much less.

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Neige et Roc. If you are looking to stay as close to Avoriaz as possible but don't have the budget to stay in the pedestrian village itself, then this is the place to be! It was only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel (which had a well equipped ski and boot storage room) to the Prodains Express which takes you up to Avoriaz. The ski shop in the hotel was very convenient and good value, the homemade breakfast each morning was plentiful and fresh, the hydro-pool, sauna and nordic bath were a great way to unwind after a day of skiing! The bedrooms were comfortable with a good shower, and the communal seating / bar areas were also great places to unwind. But the most impressive thing about the hotel was the people. Sonia and Nicolas were warm and friendly and made us feel right at home (as did Clyde their dog!). They helped provide contacts for airport transfers and ski lessons ahead of our arrival and looked after us very well throughout our stay, along with the rest of the team. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We went as a group of 23. The hotel is only a very short walk to the main gondola up to Avoriaz and there is a free bus to Morzine so a great location. The rooms are smallish but cozy and comfortable. We had a bath too. There is a lovely bar and ski shop which we used. We had 2 evening meals in the hotel which were delicious but you have to go out for most evening meals. The lift and buses run till 9pm week days and the lift runs till 12 at the weekends. There are also a couple of restaurants in the village. There is a spa hot tub and sauna which is relaxing after a days skiing. A lovely warm boot room to dry your boots out and leave your skis. Sonia was so friendly and helpful to our group helping us with meal bookings and requests. A charming French hotel in the mountains. Thank you for a lovely trip.

It was the only Hotel available for our dates. I guess there was a reason! The rooms are dilapidated 80's look with dirty carpet, curtains and old bathroom features. The internet service advertised is not available in some rooms and the staff are rude and confrontational instead of helping to solve problems. Lock up your valuables in your room!

We had a wonderful stay at Neige eat Roc! We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the slopes. The food was great & Sonia and her staff were really kind and helpful. An ideal location for skiing the Portes du Soleil with the main Avoriaz lift only a short walk away and the stop for the free bus to Morzine very close to the Hotel. Highly recommend this hotel!

Admirable stay of a week in this very pleasant Pension, where cleanliness, decoration, architecture and equipment are in unison.
The breakfast is rich and varied in this beautiful restaurant room.
The evening meal is very tasty, with good well-cooked products, a most interesting cheese platter, systematically offered at no extra charge to gourmets, all in roborative quantity to recover from the steps of the day in the nearby beautiful nature.
The wine list should be more oriented towards the best Savoyard production, but there is still what you need
The staff is friendly and attentive, and the owners always present to give a Hiking Trip Tip.
A very good address.
