This is a small guest house in the ex-mining settlement of Uis. It is run by a delightful couple who take a pride in giving a warm welcome, good food, a comfy bed, generous en-suit facilities and lots of interesting information about the history of what was once the biggest tin mine in the world. We had a fascinating and...

We had a beautiful spacious room right by the small pool, with a fabulous large open air bathroom (but no insects). Petra was a wonderful hostess, and her breakfasts were absolutely fantastic. Husband Ralph's sundowner trip gave a fascinating insight into the history of the small town and the mine. We had a great time in Uis and at Petras...

Charming guest house run by a delightful couple who go out of their way to make guests welcome. Interesting open-roofed bathroom so you can star-gaze while taking a shower - nicely equipped and lots of steaming water!

Fabulous hosts and breakfast buffet. The sundowner tour is well worth it to find out more about Uis. Great nights sleep and very relaxing pool area. Would stay again and possibly for longer. Only stayed one night but it felt like home.

We stayed 2 nights here & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It came midway in our journey thru Namibia so we used the time to relax just a little after many days of driving with more to follow. Petra & Raif are great hosts. The rooms are well appointed & quiet with great showers. Definitely do the Sundowner tour with Raif...

We spent two nights in this guest house and we were very happy, both owners are very friendly, there is nothing to complain about this place. Uis is a very little town but compared to other places in Namibia it's big with about 100 people leaving there. At the time we were there it was only possible to get breakfast,...

We stayed here for one night only in May 2014. As a result of a change of travel plans we came inland from Swakopmund. The room was very pleasant, quiet and quite roomy. Wifi is available but the best signal was in the eating area. We were welcomed with a coffee and biscuits. Ralf told us some of the interesting...

Uis is really in the middle of no-where, not many options to spend a night. Petra’s guest house has four units, Petra is very friendly and helpful, rooms and breakfast are OK. We had dinner in the nearby lodge.

We expected a little bit more by Petra's Gasthouse.Room is simple and bathroom too but everything is clean and well run. It was offered something to drink when we arrived but we had to pay when we leave. Restaurant nearby good.

Uis is a small village that makes a good stopping off point if you are travelling from Swakopmund to Etosha as we were - we took in some of the Skeleton Coast on the way also. We were a party of four who stayed two nights in Nov 13 with the intention of taking a balloon flight, but the weather...
