I had a single room at the Glendower with a view over the street. The proprietor was very accommodating of my expected arrival time in the early hours of the morning; making sure I had easy access without having to disturb anyone when I got there. The room was immaculately clean and had character. I slept well and a cooked breakfast was provided in the restaurant later that morning. I particularly appreciated the paintings and models of old Sealink vessels on display, as it was my interest in ferries that brought me to Fishguard & Goodwick.

Stayed before and on return from Ireland. The hotel is also a busy bustling local pub and although there was some noise, from people drinking on the terrace, all was quiet by bed time. The rooms are not modern but are clean and well appointed with a lovely en-suite shower. Noisy upstairs flushing toilet on the first visit. Wi-Fi worked well. Parking might be a slight problem. You can park on the street opposite between 6pm and 9am ( free an hour from 8 am) or use the public car park down some stairs, again opposite, which is also free at night. You might want a more secure arrangement if your car is loaded but we had no problems. Lovely cooked to order breakfast with all the trimmings. Above all it's a couple of minutes from the Rosslare ferry a big bonus for arriving late evening.

We arrived off the ferry at 22.05, sat nav was poor as we drove by the hotel (“pub”) without seeing it and then had no idea where the public car park was. We Abandoned the car on pavement just up road (sorry people of goodwick) and wandered down. A sudden feeling of what have we booked ensued… as we parted smokers at the entrance. That’s it. No more negatives… dumped bags in the clean rooms and headed for the bar. What an amazing bunch of people.. (customers and staff) - laugh a minute. I travel the world and sit in bars largely ignored, not in the glendower. Good nights sleep and down to a well presented full Welsh breakfast, which was so good we cancelled our proposed lunch stop in Shrewsbury and arrived home some 6 hours later.

This is a great little find. The manager and staff are really nice fun people. The bar is friendly and welcoming and I agree with the manager the Guinness is great. The rooms are spotless and comfortable and the breakfast well presented and really good. The terrace at the front of the hotel is a great place to wile away an afternoon bathed in sun sampling the Guinness.

Goodwick itself is great for the ferry to Ireland but is close to Fishguard which is well worth a visit plus the local lighthouse.

There is a big car park across the road - £2.00p for 24th so

booked this hotel on the 18th of May for a night to stay in the 27th of May during our Thursday-Sunday South wales Road trip. Everyday, we planned to stay at a different place as we wanted to go around the area. I received a call on Wednesday, one day before we started driving, but I missed it. On Thursday, I received another call while driving from Cambridge to our first destination, so 1 day before we were supposed to stay at this hotel. The person sounded quite frustrated and literally said this to me: "I wanted to tell you that there is a problem with your booking. We don't have a space for you." I'm like, what? "Uh well I did call you yesterday. There is an issue with the booking system. We don't have space for you. Sorry. Bye." Now, technical issues are real and can happen, no problem with that. But when there is such an issue, I'd expect the person to direct the customer towards a possible solution to save their trip instead of just saying you can't stay here, I don't care ok bye. Normally and ideally, as an owner or the employee of the place, you'd try to help out the customer to find a place for them to stay or direct them to somewhere you know, you'd try to accommodate them somehow. At least share information on which hotels are available etc. So many ways of helping people, who by the way got screwed up by this issue. I will make sure everyone knows about this. FYI

Stayed here when our ferry was cancelled. Lovely comfy beds, warm room, very friendly staff. Cooked breakfast was good quality and tasty. As much coffee as you wanted.

The owner got up late to accommodate us when ferry was cancelled. It made a very tiring day much better. Cleaning lady was very kind to us and nothing was too much trouble.

Now that we know about this gem we will definitely use it as a stop off the night before the ferry or as a base to explore the beautiful area.

Hotel has a lovely view of the sea and surrounding cliffs.

Pharmacy directly across road, nice pub/cafe 20 second walk called Rose and Crown.

We spent two nights in Goodwick and the staff at this hotel were very welcoming and friendly.
The whole hotel is dated, but that really adds character to the property. It was very clean and comfortable so nothing to complain about.
Breakfast was served in the dining room with a good menu. Because of Covid restrictions there were two sittings for breakfast which worked perfectly.
The bat was great! All the locals frequented the bar and there was a great atmosphere and lots of laughter. Dai, the bar manager was such a great guy with a fantastic sense of humour!
The hotel is only a 30 minute walk to Fishguard which is a pretty fishing village.

This was a lovely little place to stay close to the ferry from Rosslare - of which they were very accommodating of my late arrival. Ideal
spot to relax after travelling- room was nice and warm and clean. Breakfast was really good and cooked fresh. Staff/owners were very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for more

Rooms are in serious need of updating. I also wouldn’t stay here on a weekend if you value your sleep. Very noisy bar which is fine but not when you are wanting to sleep. Phoned down to ask if they could turn the music down, they turned it down slightly for all of five minutes until it went back up. Missed the breakfast in the morning too as I was too tired to get up! Would never ever stay here again. It has to actually be the worst place I’d ever stayed in. I’d rather sleep in a tent than stay here.

We stayed here after the overnight ferry from Rosslare and couldn't have found a better spot. The owner - Bernard - got up late to let us into the hotel and was kind and chatty whilst checking us in. In the morning, Bernard cooked us both full breakfasts before heading back to London.

Bernard has been running the hotel without ant staff during lockdown. Unfortunately, the pub and restaurant were closed during our visit, but they both looked characteristic and charming - quite similar to their owner! Thank you Bernard
