We were staying local and relished the idea of a good pub and restaurant to walk to. Popped in Christmas Eve Eve and the barmaid was very welcoming. The specials board promised of great things, so we booked a table for the following night. What a disappointment. We were the only diners all evening. We were neglected by the staff...

It must be 20 or so years since I visited here before calling recently on spec one Saturday lunchtime. Not busy, in fact we were the only two diners and a couple of locals in the local bar, for local people ! Sat overlooking the valley - really nice even on a winter's day (the Llangollen railway line runs just...

Spotted on the A5 west of Llangollen, parking available so pulled in., pleasantly surprised. Very nicely appointed hostelry, service and ambience good, food quality excellent, a very satisfying meal, generous portions, pudding not required, (no room for one) Price wise, very reasjonable. Definitely one to be enjoyed again.

Been meaning to review this place for some time but only now got round to it. Having failed to find somewhere to eat in Betws-y-Coed (everywhere full) and an accident meaning a very roundabout detour my wife and I were slightly despairing about finding a place to eat before arriving at our overnight B&B which we knew didn't do evening...

Stopped off here on the way home from a great weekend in Llandudno looking for a midway break, ordered drinks and food, nothing extravagant, 4 baguettes and 1 sandwich, over an hour later food still hadn't arrived, there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant so we couldn't see the delay, could have been so much better hence...

The Sunday lunches here are brilliant. Today we had the three meat choice. Lamb, beef and turkey, served with stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, peas and lashings of gravy and we got a platter of veg to share between us two. Consisting of cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli and carrots. The food is beautifully cooked. The staff are really friendly, particularly Karen who took...

We visited this traditional pub for Sunday lunch. The barmaid was friendly and helpful. My Hubby had roast beef, yorkshire pud, roast potato, mashed potato, peas and gravy. I had roast turkey, stuffing, roast potato, mashed potato, peas and gravy. We shared a platter of veg (carrots/cabbage/cauliflower/brocolli). Hubby then had sticky toffee pud and custard and I had caramel apple...

In a world where arty, portentous food is every where. Here is somewhere that stands out because of its ordinariness. This is good food, no this is great food, served hot, and plenty of it. We were only passing through so unlikely to return, but oh do I wish there were places like this near home. Well done!

Decided to have our anniversary meal at the Berwyn Arms having read some reviews. Chose Moroccan Chicken from the specials board and the Mixed Grill from the daily menu. Wasn't the fastest service even though the restaurant was pretty much empty but when the food arrived it was well worth the wait. The portions were enormous!! I really love a...
