Just stayed here with our 2 boys (9 and 11). Bungalows spacious enough for family. Great location. Nice pool and grounds with lovely ocean views. Rolf and Andreas very helpful - lots of great advice on where to visit and booked turtle tour. Our boys loved borrowing the boogie boards. Breakfast included and very good. Had dinner here 2 nights...

Everything about Luna Azul is faultless – from the beautiful location, lay-out and design of the hotel/lodges through to (and especially) the brilliant hospitality offered by Andreas and Rolf. At the end of what had been at times a challenging three weeks in Nicaragua and Costa Rica we could not have found ourselves in a better location; Luna Azul is...

We searched for a place in Ostional to spend few nights as we waited for the arribadas of the turtles. We could not have been happier with our time at Luna Azul! Everything about this hotel was perfect!!! The location is superb - dense forest on one side and views of the ocean combine to true Costa Rican experience. Every...

I don't write often on trip advisor but feel that I want to for our stay at Luna Azul. Our hosts, Rolf and Andreas and their staff had immense pride in the hotel and made our stay a wonderful experience. Our room was beautiful and with a fantastic view of the rainforest and a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean. From...

We have traveled Costa Rica extensively in the last 15 years and Luna Azul is unquestionably the nicest boutique hotel we have stayed at. Rolf and Andreas, the owners, were delightful as they were so helpful and friendly. The attention to detail was apparent everywhere, from the room design and decor, to the pool, and well manicured lush landscaping. Food...

At the end of a 3 week trip around CR we arrived at this great hotel. The roads were pretty bad getting there but it was certainly worth it. The outlook from the restaurant and pool to the sea in the distance, across a valley teeming with wildlife, with humming birds and butterflies dancing in the air was simply stunning....

We loved our stay! The three nights our family spent at Luna Azul were spectacular. We can’t say enough about the owners/operators, Rolf and Andreas, who have created a welcoming and tranquil retreat at Playa Ostional. They were always available to answer questions, set up tours, and give helpful advice on the best local beaches, restaurants, etc. They truly are...

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left six nights later, we felt utterly at home at Luna Azul. It is beautifully and comfortably appointed with great air conditioning and powerful outdoor showers. The pool, lounge and restaurant area have spectacular views and stunning gardens all around where you can kick back and watch vultures, hummingbirds and howler...

This was our second trip to Costa Rica and by far the best. The hotel and its surroundings were so relaxing and tranquil. We were surrounded by nature. Our hosts, Rolf and Andreas went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We plan on visiting again next year.
