From the moment we arrived and received a warm reception from Rolf and Andreas we knew that making the decision to travel right out to Ostional was definitely the right one! There were doubts on the way as the Costa Rican road network is variable at best, but how glad we were we made the decision to come to Luna...

I am an infrequent reviewer when I travel, but the experience of staying in such a perfect place was so special that I am moved to write! Luna Azul is a beautiful place in a beautiful and well cared for setting. Spacious accommodation and wonderful dining ambiance to compliment delicious dishes. Breakfasts were particularly outstanding. Rolf was a mine of...

The hotel is lovely with a great pool and the restaurant is very good. But what makes this hotel so special is how welcome you are made and the level of service. Rolf arranged a great boat trip to see the turtles it was fun. We found the other guests were great company - the ambience was very inclusive. Cannot...

Staying at the Luna Azul is like staying with rich friends who have impeccable taste. It is extremely comfortable and has a good restaurant and nothing was too much trouble for the owners , Rolf and Andreas. Lovely setting in the hills above the Pacific.

All the reviews have extolled at length about Rolf and Andreas and their wonderful hotel and we thoroughly endorse them. It is an excellent hotel and very good value for money. It is worth mentioning that the illustrations on the website do not do the hotel justice. The villas are much bigger than they appear and much nicer and the...

If you are looking thru boutique hotels in the area and planning your trip. Pack your swim suit and sunscreen and call or email Rolf and Andreas this very minute. The greeting, the decor touches of each bungalow, privacy, the restaurant, the view, cleanliness, free breakfast included ( amazing 3 courses) helpful staff, spotless grounds and infinity pool...we are wishing...

Our holiday was arranged so that our time here would coincide wit the arribada - the great turtle arrival. Unfortunately, no one told the turtles, and they were late. But Rolf arranged for us to go out with a guide on our last night, assuring us that it would still be worthwhile. And indeed it was, as we saw a...

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of February and loved every moment. The hotel is very nice the food is great. We stayed in the tropical bungalow and loved the outdoor shower. I can't say enough good things about hotel Luna azul. We flew into Liberia so you need a vehicle to get there and we rented...

Great welcome from Rolf and Andreas who are genial hosts at this small but delightful hotel. Roberto should also get special mention for his humour and good nature. Lovely lodging with a super comfortable bed and loads of hanging and shelf space too. Not the most efficient aircon but the two fans went some way to compensate. Lovely food too...

We stayed here last year and came back this year with three other couples. We stayed our last three nights in Costa Rica at Hotel Luna Azul and it was the perfect place to finish our 9-day trip. Owners/Innkeepers Rolf and Andreas greeted us like old friends and welcomed our guests as if they were family. The hospitality here is...
