Six years ago we had a great stay, not any more. The owners and I think that includes the boss of Virgin Australia have got to close this down and save this historic building. Out houses have fallen down, the main building could become unsafe. The tennis court abandoned. No obvious love or management going on. SO SAD. Food and... More

Interesting to read others opinions which are the opposite to ours. We had a wonderful time and could not fault our room, staff, service, food or the environment. We discovered Quamby Estate by accident when my husband was looking for somewhere to play golf. We decided to stay the night and spoil ourselves after two months travelling in our caravan.... More

Quamby Estate, “the great pretender”. Once this place was no doubt part of a great estate but not now. The first thing we noticed when parking next to reception was a sign that said "10 Minute Parking", not a particularly welcoming greeting. On checking in, we found the young staff member to be a little curt in her approach and... More

Feels Very civilized and nice to have someone come out and greet you at the car. Wifi not strong in our bedroom or barely there but ample sitting areas to get things done with wifi.... Beautiful open space as well. Very clean with modern bathrooms. Breakfast a disappointment. Bowl of grapes should have been cut into small groupings. Instead everyone... More

Beautiful old world charm awaits you! Four poster luxury bed and private deep bath is yours to relax in. Run of the house to enjoy the many comfortable areas of this house including a bar and veranda. Highly rate a stay here, one night is not enough to enjoy a stay at this beautiful home.

The hotel's location and grounds are terrific, but that's where it ends. There was no evidence of management direction or thought about what guests want: throughout our stay we saw no manager, and the running of the place seemed to be in the hands of well-disposed but not entirely competent young staff. This is a place with pretensions, which it... More

We had a delightful stay at Quamby estate. Our 40th wedding anniversary. Our room was spacious (room 2) and close to the communal living rooms. Open fires , library and dining room, make this overnight for us very special. Walks in the area are exceptional but it is not far from the bustle of the city of Launceston. So happy... More

We stayed for a night before and after our Bay of Fires Lodge Walk. The estate looks grand and it should for it is one of Tassie's noble country homes, surrounded by leafy English trees and offering charming decor inside. There's 10 rooms to choose from on 150 acres of picture book landscape and only 25 minutes by car from... More

Our 50th Wedding Anniversary was spent at this beautiful property. Well restored historic buildings, period furniture and decor, mature gardens. A stunning venue for a wedding, one was held whilst we were there on a magical balmy evening in the garden as shadows became longer with the ending twilight. The meals were representative of local produce, the staff were friendly... More

This place exceeds our expectation! The drive to to the Estate is like you are a lord driving up to your beautiful manor house. This beautiful house is elegant, cosy and tranquil. There is a big long verandah overlooking miles of land and beautiful trees. The view is just wonderful. The service is very good and the staff are attentive.... More
