Very informative tour about organic farming in the tropics and specifically about growing cacao and making chocolate. It was hot, but the shade helped. The samples of chocolate fondue and organic fruits was a real treat. We bought some chocolate and brought it home. It made wonderful chocolate lava cake. Much more interesting than I had thought it would be

Very nice place run by an Austrian / Costar Rican couple. Clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent food - all from their own organic garden. The main attraction is the finca itself with its beautiful plantation & cacao tour. The tour is very interesting and includes a lot of tasting (all fruits from their fruit trees as well as cacao-beans &...

As a couple of chocoholics it was recommended to my wife and myself that we take advantage of the chocolate tour available at Finca Kobo. We have to say that the tour put on by Finca Kobo was entertaining and informative. The tour was led by a very personable and capable young man who went out of his way to...

I am a chocolate lover, not only for the taste but also for the nutrient value of this super-food. The two hour tour of Finca Kobo was filled with fascinating information not only about how cacao is grown and turned into our chocolate, but also a historical appreciation for the beans place from ancient time to present is furnished. The...

Our family (kids ages, 8, 11 and 12) loved this educational and interactive tour with a great guide, Juan Luis. He took us through the plantation clearly explaining every process and engaging the kids. They also grow herbs and fruit on their plantation which we got to taste/smell. Tour ended in their cafe with a chocolate fondue, fresh fruit and...

We did not stay at the lodge, but took and easy drive up from Puerto Jimenez to take the chocolate tour. We took this tour at the strong suggestion of my sister who had just visited, and are very glad we did. Not only did we learn about cacao production, we also learned about primary/secondary forests, other fruit, and there...

As part-time organic farmers and full-time chocolate lovers, we enjoyed sampling our way through this 2 hour tour. And at $32 a person it was a fine value. Half the tour is spent on everything but cacao: pineapple, lemongrass, heirloom starfruit, banana varieties, etc. But our guide was informative and personable. We tasted varieties of cacao fruit and followed the...
