Feeling excited to visit Bako NP. An open eye towards the natural place. However, an accident happened due to my Friend was stung by a wild bees while we on the way to the waterfall. There was no service of mobile in the forest. Therefore, we searched for mobile service and called for help. Luckily we found the office number...

We stayed overnight at Bako in one of the forest chalets. Being at Bako after the day trippers had left was fantastic. It was so peaceful! It seemed that as soon as the last boat left, the silver leaf monkeys came down out of the trees. I totally recommend an overnight there if you have the time. There is a...

Not worth staying overnight, especially at the weekend when its really busy. We got put to back of the que at the 'overnight stand' and at the jetty, as tour groups and day drippers get given priority. We were waiting over an hour on the jetty. At the National park you can't check in until 2pm and everyone leaves their...

I write this review to get some reality over the quality of the stay in the bako national park. I read some many bad reviews, we were expecting something really horrible. That turned out to be not true. So here's my view: The rooms (we had a type 6) are very big, but with much in it. A bed and...

We went to this park and spotted many wild live. It's very hot overthere so bring enough water with you, there are more than enough tracks to walk around which are bringing you back to the HQ and our advise to you is to book a guide there as they will inform you about what you will be seeing there...

Bako National Park is amazing and it is worth spending the night. The proboscis monkeys and bearded pigs all come out around dusk. While you may only see one or two of the monkeys during day trips to the park, they visit the entrance at dusk. You also MUST go on a night walk. It's cheap (20RM?) and lasts for...

We went to the national park by boat which was 30 mins long. Suppose to see the proboscis monkey but when we went there, there weren't any. We were just unlucky. Other tour groups from previous days were able to see it. The only wildlife we saw were the wildboars, small green snake, long tail monkey, wild catfish. It was...

You could compare the hostel to the house found deep in the forest of the Blair Witch Project... Or at least, a building that has been abandoned for several decades without any maintenance. As is clear from the other reviews here, the hostel is far from ideal. The 'kitchen' (A sink and fridge that you wouldn't dare leave anything inside)...

The park is absolutely beautiful. The wildlife is incredible and the views are stunning. It's just such a shame that the hospitality and accommodation are bad. Pros: The wildlife! We saw proboscis lots of monkeys (mostly by the main beach), macaque monkeys (don't eat food outside or they will steal it and become vicious), silver leaf monkeys, pit viper snakes,...

The hostel at the Bako seriously need to have some maintenance. There were plenty holes and cracks on the ceiling, toilet wasn't clean, broken chair, dirty pillow, very old bed with unclean bedsheets. Rusty refrigerator is provided but its unclean inside. By just looking at them I feel regret staying overnight. However I wanted to stay overnight because of beautiful...
