We went to visit the nearby "Equita" exhibition at Euroexpo in Lyon (only 25 min drive from the place). After having read all the reviews, we hoped it would be a great place to be. And indeed, it was! We staid in the Chalet "City" and nothing, really nothing! was missing; clean, generous and with plenty of little details including the welcome rose. You will not find standard and everything shows that the owners have put their heart into this. We also used the kitchenette that is put at disposal for a small fee. And, what a discovery when heading for breakfast. The small white building in colonial style puts you immediately in a different world. Having traveled a lot to the South of Africa, we were right back there. A wonderful breakfast room, where the sound the savannah in the background makes you actor in "Out of Africa". Last but not least not to forget the wonderful service we enjoyed. Attentive, plenty of little extras were offered to accomplish a "non vanilla' breakfast buffet with some exceptional choices.…

We were visiting the area to go to the Festival of Lights in Lyon and found this hotel which we reckoned was about the right distance away from Lyon. Each bedroom is an individual log chalet and each chalet is finished to a superb standard and very comfortable. There was even a kitchenette in our chalet which I believe we could have paid to use. The weather was very cold when we were there but our chalet was lovely and cosy. The complex was not quite finished when we visited but the grounds around each chalet have been very well landscaped and once they have had a chance to mature it should look stunning. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. We took breakfast in the restaurant across the road and that was good quality and plenty to eat. The surrounding area is beautiful and close to the mountains so great for all sorts of outdoor activities. It's not an area we know very well but we think we will go back and explore more when the weather is warmer and we will definitely consider staying at this hotel again.…
