We booked our one night stay at the Embleton only two days before as we needed somewhere close to the lakes. As a family of four, our accommodation was perfect, the service was excellent and the views were lovely. All of which was further enhanced by the offer of a complimentary cake and coffee / hot chocolate on arrival for everyone. Great touch!! If you’re looking for an independent hotel with a family feel. Look no further. We loved it 👍.

We had a lovely stay here. The hotel was lovely with a nice welcoming feel to it.The views from this hotel were amazing and the staff were very friendly and pleasant. The hotel room was nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast had a lot of options and was great. We decided to have the evening meal one day during our stay and this was delicious and the smells coming from the kitchen were enough to make your mouth water.I would highly recommend stopping here.

We had dinner at the hotel, and the food was delicious. The staff are friendly and on hand to help anytime. The views from the conservatory window are beautiful, what a way to spend a Sunday! (p.s the coffee and cake selction is also very good)

Great Hotel, well located and has really great views. Staff were overall friendly and very helpful, The pool was a welcomed addition. No issues parking. Excellent for days out either visiting local attractions or places. The accommodation (Grasmere) was first class, lots of room and storage.Cannot really fault the establishment. Had an issue with one of the TVs in the room, despite trying to get it sorted it was not able to be resolved but no issue as there was another one in the room to use. The only point was some of the FOH staff were young and inexperienced so the attentiveness was lacking on a couple of occasions. Recommended and will plan another visit in the near future.

Booked many times previous and never asked for a deposit. Booked to come again 4 weeks in advanced and a few weeks before receive a phone call asking for card details and deposit When I call back to cancel the booking as not happy, never had to previously the attitude towards me was disgusting. Food was good but customer service shocking. So be warned they ask for half the money of the total cost of the meal a few days before. Happy to go elsewhere.

Response from Ali Dixon, General Manager at Embleton Spa Hotel
Responded 1 week ago
Hi Katie, I'm sorry you chose to cancel your reservation. We recently began asking for a deposit for our Sunday Roast Shareboards as in the past few weeks we suffered from some tables who have not arrived for their reservation. We begin preparing our Sunday Shareboards early on Sunday morning, so if a reservation doesn't arrive it results in a considerable amount of wasted food and a considerable cost to our business. We do not ask for the deposit weeks in advance; we call customers on Thursdays to reconfirm their reservation for Sunday and take a £20 deposit per table. When we spoke yesterday we politely explained this to you, and you decided to cancel your reservation. I hope you'll come back and enjoy one of our shareboards another time.
