The resort is extremely run down. Not worth a try. Rooms have cracked tiles that are not safe for kids. Pool has cracked tiles my 2 kids had cuts everytime they swam (a shame) since we checked in we never got got water despite many complaints. Food is just like food you eat everyday at home doesn't feel like a holiday at all. They repeat food for days. The only good thing is they have some very good staff. But if your planning a nice holiday never come here it's not a nice experience.

The hotel staff are overworked, the waiters work from wee hours in the morning to late at night; therefore their productivity is compromised. The cutlery on the table is dirty, not well cleaned ;and the napkins and table clothes on the restaurant are changed after2-3days. The table clothes are usually filled with food smerges and the napkins are used . The room towels are discolored and they have a pungent smell. The bed sheets and duvets are quite dirty as well. I was shocked; considering I was staying at their new tower. The All inclusive package is also a waste of money. They only give you cheap liquor and badly made sandwiches as snacks for the kids . Honestly, I have never had such a terrible experience. Please don’t waste your money !

I stayed there for 4 nights and 5 days. The hotel ambience is great, amazing staff and service. I can't forget to give a special mention to Alice from service and Japhet from the kitchen. And one special lady from the kitchen, she prepared food for our daughter whenever she was on duty. Sorry I didn't ask for her name. The pool was clean and towels were provided on time. Thanks to Anderson from pool, he was jovial and played volleyball with us each day we wanted to. Were well taken care of throughout our stay and thanks to the hotel staff from reception starting with David and Mokaya for giving us late check out. Few things to note; Nobody checked with us throughout our stay even to see if we are enjoying our stay. But I could see some guests being asked about their stay and if they wanted anything else. Also it will look professional if staff can wear name tags. Overall I had a great time with my family. Thank you sun n sand beach resort

The hotel is in a very good silent location. The reception and the chefs were nice except this one lady chef who was impolite, not to me but to some kids who were trying to serve themselves but instead of her telling them politely that they shouldn't serve themselves please, as it is not allowed because of so and so,she was vigorously and very rudely shouting at them. The so called "buffet" barely had anything to choose from and the food was awful. The fruits were cut in tiny pieces mixed together in their juice, awful. The washroom floors were wet, literally. The toilets were not flashing properly. Oh and the tables weren't laid properly, for cutlery we only had a fork and a knife and no spoons. The swimming pool was good. There's honestly room for improvement but until then,i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful resort but horrible service whilst only 5 guests present. Food way way below level of the hotel star category. I requested for vegetarian meals under special requests for the resort, however on my last nite got the same old lasagne from the nite before. I asked tbe chef why could you not prepare a simple veg meal for me? His response was "I was waiting for you to tell me what you want". Guests have to chase the chefs for meals they don't care rather feasted better than what they served the only 5 guests. Total disappointment for the exorbitant rates they are charging. Meant for dont care holidayers. European and Asian markets NO

We visited sun N sand for our 6th marriage anniversary. It was awesome. The staff went above and beyond to be pleasant. The food was good and the beaches very clean and not overcrowded. They also have different entertainment after dinner to keep guests entertained. The location is a it far from the airport and Mombasa, but we did not see the need to leave the hotel during our stay

The Sun n Sand Beach Resort is in a major transition and knowing that I still decided to bring my small group of travelers to the hotel on the last leg of our two-week safari trip to Kenya. My first visit to Sun n Sand was in 2007 when the hotel was booming, and tourism in Kenya was thriving. Now with the evolution of what the country has endured over the past 12 years, the resilience and fortitude of the hotel owners have kept them afloat throughout the years. The Visram family is committed to social entrepreneurism and co-existing in partnership with the local community. That was vital to my sticking with Sun n Sand for my 2019 visit. Having stayed in several properties across Kenya, their consistent track record continues to impress not only me but my travelers as well. Given the upcoming plans to open Ocean 7, their state of the art hotel right on the same property sometime in December 2019 is exceedingly impressive. We toured the new hotel and were amazed at how it will transform the elegance and beauty of the complex. The older rooms that we used will be completely overhauled once Ocean 7 opens. I look forward to staying in the new property sometime in the near future! In the meantime, the food at Sun n Sand was quite good. Staff was professional and friendly. I completely enjoyed the water aerobics class, water polo, and the scenic beauty of this beachfront resort. I wish the Visram family the very best as they transform Sun n Sand into a new classic beauty throughout 2020.

The rooms are spacious with beautiful scenes.Hot water in the showers is very limited. Sometimes there's no water completely in the whole hotel. You have to follow up to have your supplies refilled. TVs never work, they need an upgrade. Beach is dirty, very dirty. Most staff are rude and unfriendly. Food is not varied. The hotel needs a SERIOUS OVERHAUL!!!!!!

Worst place ever. Rooms are dirty and smelly. The food is horrible and the waiters are likely to steal from you by billing you for things you have not consumed. Be extra careful and cross check all your bills before you pay.
