Visited this pub recently with friends for one of our regular meet ups where we like to try different venues in the area. The Peacock Inn at Chelsworth is certainly up there at the top of our list for friendly service, excellent food and a wonderful old world ambience. We had a table in the small dining area right in...

I went here with a large party so we were seated in an area away from the log fires. Unfortunately, the heating wasn't on at first so we had to keep our coats on. When it did come on, it took a while to warm up and then went off again a little while later. We also had to wait...

Undoubtedly this pub is in a superb spot and if you are wanting to experience a 'traditional English pub' then this is the place. And, on a cold winters day the open fire is a real pleasure. However, on our third visit here with good friends (we had recommended this place highly) we thought that the food was distinctly average....

Varied choice including a chalk board for specials: food first class as always but a bit of a delay in serving desserts. Is that to make you drink more? Otherwise recommended when tourist season is quiet

Had Sunday lunch, small menu that focus on good quality done to a high standard. We asked for some changes to our meals and the staff were very helpful and happy to be flexible for vegetarians. A few parking spots opposite and a few immediately outside.

We've eaten at this lovely pub a couple of times. Great food and friendly service - we'll definitely be back. The roasts on a Sunday are fantastic. The pub is full of interesting things and has real character, and a pretty garden if the weather is favourable. Highly recommended.

Went there for Sunday lunch twice. Couldn't fault the food, tasty traditional and rustic british dishes, well executed. However, the front of house - service needs serious improvement. Neither time we were offered the wine list, beers came in the wrong glass every time. The landlady didn't really know what juices were available. Quite a bit of disorganization due to...

Saw The Peacock as we were out for a Saturday drive about in the area. Pub with charm and character as we walked inside. Nice selection of main entrees on several chalkboards through out the pub. My wife and I settled on lighter meals. Soup of the day (carrot and leek), and Suffolk ham on baguette, with two half-pints of...
