We stayed one night in this charming hotel and would definitely come back again. It is right in the center of Chiang Khan's old town. You can drive to the front of the hotel to leave your luggage, and their parking space not far away from the hotel. The rooms are small (we could fit two normal sized luggage), but clean and cozy. I would recommend to bring some ear plugs to sleep at night, as you can easily hear noises from the other rooms or the street (after all it is a wood house). The common area has a view to the Mekong river and it's great to sit and relax readying a book. They have a nice coffee shop with delicious homemade food. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, particularly Khun Bom, who once we mentioned we ate vegan food (while we were looking for something to eat in the coffee shop), she did her best adapt some food and even arranged for us to have a delicious mushroom conjee for our breakfast.…
We stay here for only 1 night, With a view is a very lovely cozy hotel in the traditional wooden 2storey house of Chiang Kan. Our room is pretty small with 2 single beds but comforatble enough for us.Private bathroom is compact with lovely wash basin. The hotel location is just in the center of Chiang kan walking street and facing Khong river. So abit noisy at night but fantastic view with fog over river in the morning. The disappoint thing is no carpark for us we need to park at the temple nearby.
We stopped here for breakfast during our stay at Chiang Khan. We had the America breakfast which was incredibly delicious! We'd missed our bacon and eggs from home so this was a welcomed menu. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
The latte and green tea is heavenly taste , and the bael cake is super amazing with their signature sauce. We were there on the raining day. The staff is very helpful to guide us to the bank , supermarket , and even for local transport system
Enjoyed a 1 night stay in the First Floor (Riverview) Room to visit Chiangkhan and its Walking Street. This boutique hotel is very central in the Walking Street area. They have an excellent (covered & secured) carpark a few streets away for guest use. The location gives uninterrupted views to the river (& Laos beyond), as well as being right amongst Walking Street as it starts in the early evening. As the First Floor Room is located on the Ground Floor level at the front of the resort, the bedroom door is right beside the common sitting/cafe area, so privacy is quite limited. The view is straight to the river but quite low down, with a basement storage area to the lower part of the view. The Room is also very small - perhaps about 16 sq.m. It is comfortable & clean & uncluttered, but we were happy it was just for one night! The small bathroom to the rear has a basic shower and handbasin & toilet. There is no storage, and your "minibar" is a large shared fridge out in the cafe area (so we labelled our drinks). An interesting system to save on space. Staff were attentive and helpful on advice for the area. The breakfast service was a simple buffet with eggs, fried rice & toast etc. The sitting/cafe area is very nice to watch the riverside life (boats crossing to Laos, cruises etc), although there was an "event" at the temple on the Laos side that went well into the early morning a.m. with loud music & light shows! The resort provides excellent bicycles that we took along the well-laid riding track along the riverside - you can ride safely for many km's without being on a public road. For a short stay to see the local sights, the View Hotel was very comfortable and well-designed, and a very convenient walking/riding distance to everything. The First Floor Room is small but comfortable, but for more privacy/quiet we would recommend booking a room upstairs. Congratulations to the designer and good luck to the team.…
Wooden designs all over, very clean, three river view rooms, upstairs probably the best. Downstairs café serving also to non-residents, great coffee and sweets. For breakfast homemade bread. What else do you want.
Stay for a night after finish my phu kardueng trip. This small boutique hotel is very charming, deco is very nice. All the staff a super friendly, and very helpful.... The even went out to get me a motobike tuk tuk and giving info to the driver send me all the way to bus station. Im realy appreciate it. Room and bathroom is beautiful, not big but is good for couple, not suitable with big luggage. And its not suitable for light sleeper. One thing i like also is the room c/w beautiful wall fan. Price is on the high side. But is worth it.
Located in the center of Chiangkan walking street. The breakfast is good ( 2 options offered: pork congee or hotdogs with eggs) the room is clean but small. No fridge inside the room. The atmosphere is good. Fresh air in the morning.
This is no rickity hotel. It's a very trendy 3 story resort with a coffee shop at the front and a common veranda on the river side. Shoes are kept outside or on a rack for high cleanliness. The view is definitely a good selling point of With a View. Spend your mornings at the benches and easily walk down to the river path with a bicycle. Room walls are very thin and it's easy to be awaken by the commotion of the outside hustle of walk-in customers at the coffee shop. The rooms themselves are very nice and clean; bathroom is especially nicely designed. Door handles and locks are wooden - a nice touch.
Poor service, unhelpful staff. Very small room and small bathroom, small balcony. Not only do you pay inadvance but a refundable deposit is required. Why? No Beer, no coffee after 9pm. Guests are required to remove shoes but staff go out on to the street in their slippers and then back into the hotel. Expensive for what you get. Nice view of the river if you enjoy seeing it from a box.
