Having had one delightful stay here we booked a second time hoping that it would be just as good as before. We weren't disappointed! The same warm welcome, the same high quality comfortable accommodation and the same copious gourmet breakfast beautifully served by our host. Everything was superb. Thank you, Dominique and Genevieve - we look forward with pleasure to our... More

Many thanks to Dominique & Genevieve for the warmest of welcomes. Absolutely perfect after a long day travelling. The accommodation is superb. The attention to detail was outstanding- coffee machine, fine teas, even a nightcap! Breakfast couldn't be faulted. Excellent local produce. What we thought would have been a rather flat stopover at the end of our holidays was actually... More

What a delightful place and fabulous hosts! We arrived after a long drive to the warmest of welcomes from Dominique, Genevieve and their friends. After a relaxing couple of glasses of wine and nibbles, Dominique kindly booked us a table at a local restaurant, which was every bit as good as he'd said. The room was gorgeous, beautiful furnishings and... More

This was the last night of our holiday in Europe and what a place to finish off. It was absolutely delightful. The apartment was spacious, spotlessly clean with lovely views of the owners garden. We were greeted by the owners daughter, who spoke excellent English. She offered us a glass of wine and then proceeded to draw us a map... More

Not our first visit to this idyllic place and it will not be our last. Superb hosts, breakfast and room. Why anyone would consider a hotel in this part of the world when La Coulonniere is available is beyond me. Thanks Dominique and Gennerviere

At the end of a long day's travel it was wonderful to arrive at La Coulonniere. The warm and enthusiastic welcome by Dominique and Genevieve including a shared drink with convivial conversation began the relaxation process, then the wonderfully appointed room, with every detail carefully planned, in a spacious annex extended this feeling of relaxation. We were able to eat our... More

It was our second night on a 3 week cycletrip to Bordeaux and the first on French soil. We were immediatly invited to share a glas of wine our hosts were having with some friends after our bikes got a dry and secure spot on their terras. The room is pure luxury. Electrical adjustable beds, relaxing views over the garden,... More

The facilities wouldn't be out of place in a 5 star hotel - electric bed, automatic window blinds(which really darken the room), coffee and tea making facilities with an almost infinite choice, wood-burning stove, stunning decor etc etc. And Dominique and Genevieve are outstanding hosts - friendly but not intrusive. Our breakfast was excellent - fruit, croissants, bread, natural yoghurt,... More

I can confirm all the superlatives that have been said about Dominique and Genevieve's welcome and accommodation. It would be difficult to find a better bedroom in a 5 star hotel and the breakfasts are of similar quality.

This is a beautiful little place with the friendliest welcome you could wish for. The owners keep everything in perfect condition and were happy to try their best with speaking English but if you speak any French it'll help. They offer breakfast with eggs laid from their own hens. We stayed here as a stop over near the Channel Tunnel... More
