About

VILLA PEDRA was born on a slope of Serra de Sicó, right in the center of Portugal, in the ancient Aldeia de Cima, which had been abandoned for over seventy years. In love with its unique beauty, the owners decided to bring it back to life. Its rehabilitation counts on fourteen recovered houses, including the restaurant “A Cozinha”, where, upon reservation, you can have a delicious home-cooked meal. The project made by the Architect respected the spirit of the region and the traditional construction techniques, preserving the ecological, aesthetic basis, thereby ensuring absolute comfort throughout the year. The Villa has as primordial pillars the well-being, peacefulness, quality and authenticity. Here, you will find serenity and time for reflection, and the supreme privilege of doing nothing.

Let me just say that there's nothing alike. The owners essentially bought a really old abandoned village, reconstructing and redecorating the 14 houses along the way. Each one of them are uniquely decorated, have amazing views and offer private gardens. Our house had an amazing living room with cute pieces of art distributed harmoniously. The bathroom was at a first glance hidden behind a kitchen cabinet, a misteriously and interesting touch. The view of a few old houses and the mountains was breathtaking. Even though it was raining the private garden still offered a sense of peace that would inspire anyone. I imagine it would be a great added value for a family with kids. The house possessed so many interesting details that made us feel like 3 days weren't enough. Definitely a place to return!

We organised our wedding at Villa Pedra and stayed there several days before. What an amazing place and and a phenomenal staff. Lino, Sarah and Marta catered to our many needs with exceptional professionalism, quality and charm. The Villa is stunningly built and designed with exceptional taste. You get fresh bread, pastries and ingredients for breakfast every morning which is absolutely amazing, and the lunch and dinners are superb courtesy of the chef Marta. This is possibly the nicest place, particularly price quality, that we have stayed at! We did not want to leave and are most certainly coming back.

It's quite remote. In the night you hear nothing, actually during the day too The restored village houses are a perfect place to be; spacious, comfortable, well equipped, private - all we wanted The personal touch is also one of the place's advantages. The crew knows you personally, available to help at any time, and gives you the feeling of being at home. It is a perfect place to relax, to hike around (they give you a GPS with tracks) and to make short trips around. If you plan longer travels, don't plan to do it during your stay - it's better to stay close and relax. We will be back!
