Staff are friendly and polite. The rooms are tired and in need of renovation. The bathroom was extremely dated with no shower screen or curtain, yet there was a bath! (Weird Korean/Western combo!). The temperature was overwhelming! So hot and dry that we had to sleep with the windows open, even then it was too hot and awkward as the...

The lobby of the Wando Tourist Hotel (Wando Tourist Hotel, 152, Haebyeongongwon-ro, Wando-eup, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do 537-801, South Korea, 061-552-3005, www.wandohotel.com) looks like a hotel lobby (not a love motel) and the people at the front desk spoke English (sort of). The hotel business cards say “Benikea” but it is no longer part of that hotel chain. The hotel is old...

The hotel was very run down, not very clean. Needs major renovation, has potential. There is no air condition in the rooms, nothin you would expect in even a very basic economy room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Benikea really needs to send someone to see and assess the condition of this property.
