Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is well equipped with all you may need. Staff is very nice and you can have a massage arranged there. The price of extras overall seems a little too high compared to all the rest along the Camino. It is comparable to hotels in Milan but not quite right in Arcos.. however I strongly recommend the place, especially for the kindness of the owners

I arrived around 4 after a long hike from Porto. I was greeted like a local and immediately shown to my room which had everything imaginable that i might need… was offered dinner and also breakfast time was confirmed. The in house masseuse was amazing… I woke up with nil strains after my hectic hike the day before! Breakfast was perfect with beautifully set table and plenty of food for many. Thanks it was a welcome oasis!

The owner was very friendly. Room was spotless. I had a swim to refresh my legs in the cold pool, stayed in November so water was cold which is what I wanted, an ice bath. Mini fridge for you to buy cola, water, beer Had a massage which is just what I needed. Breakfast was really good Highly recommend staying here

Stopped here for a night while walking the Camino. Perfectly adequate and comfortable room with access to a lovely pool but I would eat elsewhere not worth the price for dinner. The breakfast was pretty minimal also nothing special.

My wife and I had booked B&B in Villa D Arcos. Let me start by saying that the house is lovely, the pool is very nice and the breakfast is adequate. But they want to get more money from at every turn. When we arrived after a long day walking we asked if there was tea making facilities in our room, to be told that there was not but they did provide coffee in our room which cost €2.50 per cup which was cold, sorry tepid. We asked about dinner which they said would cost €20pp excluding any drinks, we declined. On check out the lady wanted to charge me €95 when in fact the agreed price was €75. If you have to stay here we would advise that you use the small cafe to the left of Villa DArcos for any food, this is a perfectly adequate place frequented by locals mainly but the food and wine is very good and is reasonably priced.

Stayed for 1 night as part of our Camino Portuguese walk. After a days walk it was so pleasing to arrive. It is really a house with owner who knows how to look after guests. The rooms are large and well appointed with private facilities - spa bath, hair dryer and all items such as shampoo, soap etc. The furnishings are "out there" and may not be everyone's taste - we found them fascinating and so detailed. Breakfast is included and is extensive - right down to home made yogurt. There is sure to be other like minded pilgrims staying for the night. Dinner is available at extra cost in the form of a home cooked roast but in true tradition it is not served until late in the evening. We chose to eat early at the cafe next door. Wifi is available in the room but is patchy. There is a swimming pool for hot days. We loved the place and give it a top recommendation.

This is a pretty house with nice rooms but my introduction was hurried and I wasn't told about the facilities at all. My bedroom had too many pillows and the queen sized bed took up most of the space. The drawers open when pressed and towels where in the drawers. My shower was in the bedroom and tiny. Inside there was some complicated power shower and massage buttons which I didn't try as it looked as though the room might get massaged as well. The shower head was tiny and couldn't be adjusted and aimed at your face. There was a nice wrap around terrace with this ground floor room which looked on to the front garden and quiet street. Sadly I only discovered that there was a pool which was warm and a bar in the basement but instead a hairdressers next door gave good service for only €5.00 and supper and breakfast was excellent.

The room was great : large, large bathroom, stylish, balcony. The family were friendly and helpful. We made use of the wonderful swimming pool which was fantastic after a warm day on the. Wifi was lag - I suspect it is via satellite. It works ok but there were delays. Breakfast was very good with lots of homemade items. We were offered the choice of dinner and since the only alternative is a bar about 200m back down the track we decided to trust the reviews here on TripAdvisor. It was ok, don't get me wrong. Melon and prosciutto was superb, then a good vegetable soup then a roast chicken Maryland with potatoes and tomatoes. Then homemade fruit salad for dessert. With the cheapest bottle of wine I could find it came to 56 euro for 2. I'd stay there again but try the bar for dinner.
