.......and they arranged for us to stay at this stunning lodge the night before we flew back to the Uk. I personally could have stayed there a couple of nights or longer you had no television 📺 or telephone 📞 in the room but with the stunning views you don't need or even want it. The owners and staff are...

Thank you for writing. Yes, I imagine that before flying back to the UK, to have a night at a place like Lake Ohau must really help cope with the journey. It's lovely to know that you enjoyed your stay.

Night 2 of the A20 cycle ride from Mount Cook to Oamaru was here. The front desk lady was chirpy and friendly. The Accom we were in was budget but comfortable. Sitting on the balcony in the afternoon in the sun was magical over looking the lake with views all the way back to Mount Cook. The included dinner and...

The welcome is genuine, the ambience is immediate, the rooms are chic....and the view - there are no words! This place is like something out of a movie, You have a set menu for dinner and they place you on a table with other travellers for a fun, chatty dining experience. We had a hot tub before dinner to rest...

Idyllic setting for a great stay on the A2O cycle trail. Beautiful views over the lake and very comfortable lounge and dining area. Very welcome hot spas on the deck - ideal for aching limbs ! Food was great - thanks for the great soups for lunch and dinner and the great dessert after our excellent mains. Bit of a...

Thank you for your review and hope you caught the sunset on Aoraki Mt Cook from the spa pool, that is pretty sensational! Sorry about the WiFi, we try to alert all guests to the fact you must turn off your automatic updates when using the code. Hope you can make it back for another visit.

We stayed for one night on A2O cycle trail. It was bliss. Lodge has a relaxed welcoming 60s vibe. The kind of place where you can settle back with a glass of wine and your feet curled up in well worn but very comfortable sofa. Great background music and stunning views. Comfortable bed. Completely loved it.

I've stayed here many times over 40 years, usually for skiing, and always with friends as well as family. We've never been disappointed by it. The decor doesn't change. It just gets additions. So it remains a genuine relic of the 60s, but comfortable, warm and welcoming, even though it is now big. The old wings are not flash but...

This place is in a great spot with great views and an excellent Chef in the kitchen. Really enjoyed the stay for one night on the A2O cycle ride. I would not think you would want to stay for an extended period but perfect for our purpose. Service was good too - seemed to be foreign backpackers running the place.

We do have 3 excellent Chefs and two out of the three are Kiwis. We also have a Kiwi barman but you are right, we have an international crew here. Would love to have more Kiwis but unfortunately not many want to work in these remote places. Come on out of the forest you kiwis!

This lodge has rooms of various styles and character which are all well described on their website having been added to over the past 65 years. We stayed in the Maitland Wing which is basic, comfortable and clean with lovely views over the lake. The dining and lounge areas are more modern with comfortable lounges and outside tables as well....

Stayed in the Huxley wing for the first time as the lodge was full. Good size bed, comfortable with a very large bathroom. Clean with soaps etc provided. Even a glimpse of the lake. Quiet and bellbirds singing in the morning. Dinner was usual high standard with 3 courses and staff were excellent. Muesli, fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakfast,...

Glad you liked our Huxley wing - no bells or whistles - apart from the bellbirds which are going off at the moment. I always think of Autumn and bellbirds. Thank you for writing.
