We booked into The Bridge for the weekend, my brother in law and family(his birthday) had also booked in and we joined them as a surprise. We were shown up to our room which was dark, dingy with un-hovered carpets. Two twin beds pushed together, the head boards were screwed to the wall so were out of line with the...

I didn't stay here, but I had one of the best pints of real ale I've ever had. Coupled with a ham and mustard mayo sandwich and chips they made a very enjoyable lunch in front of the welcoming fire. So I had to have a second pint! The guy behind the bar was cheerful welcoming and happy to have...

I cannot celebrate the Bridge enough. It's everything you want from a pub, cost, not fussy, roaring fire, decent beer and decent uncomplicated food. The landlord obviously knows what he is doing, catering for thirsty walkers with dogs, and those want to eat in the restaurant. You feel at home as soon as you walk in and it is perfectly...

I've been to this pub a few times and I've found it to be a bit hit and miss. First of all the selection of real ales are excellent. As are the baguettes with chips and a portion of soup )especially the beef and Stilton. Sunday lunch sadly wasn't so great. Everything was served on the same plate (no separate...

Booked a table for family meal on Saturday (2 families, with 4 children). Service prompt, attentive and friendly. Beer choice excellent. Food was superb - I had smoked mackerel pate to start followed by fish & chips. Children all ate their meals, which is a good sign! Very reasonably priced too (children's meals £5.99). The bar was full of friendly...

Nice bar staff who seem eager to please. The food is reasonable - but I wouldn't have the steak again - expensive and not great. Though most of the mains look fine and the desserts are good for typical pub food - sticky toffee though called something else. And the beer is good. Good mix of tourist and locals. From...

Lovely friendly pub and as with a lot of others in the area our dog got a really warm welcome 😊 Lost count of the number of biscuits she was given 😊We only stopped in for a quick half but there was a good choice of ale on offer.Nice walks from the doorstep too.

This hotel is the pits, the carpets are flat greasy and dirty, the food is overpriced and basic. The bedrooms are grimy dark and miserable. There is no heating on (Dec ) we laid in a damp bed, and the room was absolutely freezing had to go to bed in a fleecie, and hid face under the covers, everything smells...

The rooms were clean and large, but since one of our rooms was over the pub, there was singing and noise until about 11:00 pm. We ate in the pub and had the best chicken/leek pie ever!! Hard to get wifi in the rooms, but it was in the pub area. The staff was friendly and helpful.
