Grotta Giusti is located in Monsummano Terme just a few kilometres from Florence, Pisa and Lucca.Set in a private park with secular trees, the early nineteenth century villa, now a prestigious Hotel, enriched by antique furnishings and paintings, has maintained intact its historical air and natural charm. The Hotel is directly connected to the Spa, which has a modern Wellbeing Centre with an Oriental area, equipped gymnasium, numerous relaxation areas and a medical aesthetic centre. The Spa also has an open air pool with 750 square metres of thermal water, picturesque cascade and underwater hydro-massages and the large millennial Grotta to end the day with a beneficial, relaxing "steam bath". Immersed in the park are the fresh water swimming pool, tennis court and fitness walk with further trekking courses for excursions in the surrounding countryside. And, just a few kilometres from Grotta Giusti, an 18 hole golf course.

Nestled in Tuscany, Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort is a haven for those seeking a classic Tuscan atmosphere and a picturesque setting. Guests frequently commend the resort's clean, well-equipped rooms and the inviting ambiance. However, some travelers have encountered issues with room maintenance and expressed disappointment in the value, pointing to high costs for additional services. While the thermal spa is a highlight, the service receives mixed reviews, with instances of both friendliness and delays due to understaffing.

The resort is beautifully located a bit outside of the city centre on the steps of Monsummano to. The forest on the back of the hotel offers fresh, natural air and offers great hiking possibilities.
The hotel itself has an own, sufficient swimming pool with a nice pool bar and delicious cocktails. The area is beautifully appointed.
The restaurant, where also the breakfast is served, reminds of a very well maintained museum and is really elegant. The breakfast itself is absolutely sufficient, also with local items, just the hot food ( scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon) is always closed, even directly at the opening of the breakfast.
The rooms have an OK size, for longer stays a bit challenging. The beds in a twin bed room are still traditional single beds with 80-90 cm size. Very unusual nowadays. However the bathroom is spacious and very nice appointed.

The staff of the hotel is very friendly and attentive. Bellboy, front office, room service everyone always smiling, very quick and you feel appreciated.

The connected Thermal Spa and pool is very nice, and has a dedicated area for hotel guests. Also the walking, max. 3-5 minutes, is absolutely ok.

Challenging is the noise....remember we are in a Spa Resort and not in a Rimini Party location.
Music is playing outside during dinner hours, right in front of the rooms of the first floor (left wing). The outside restaurant tables are directly underneath the rooms first floor (left wing). You here the music and the guests until late at night and no information about it. Having in addition to that, a room first floor directly next to the main entrance and close to the elevator and stairs, thus even adds unwanted noises, especially guests checking in early or late. And also you hear the other guests in the rooms, flushing the toilets, walking around with heels, having the TV loudly on etc. You can hear everything.

So overall a resort with great potential but wanting to be a 5**** Spa and Resort property you need to be aware of the noise challenges you ask your guests to accept. It really challenges the relaxing atmosphere the hotel wants to create towards their audience.

We spend 2 nights during low season and we spent 260€ per night for the superior Included breakfast (not the best) and access to the pool areas (nice, with limited area for hotel guests). Big hotel well organised and good service.
Dinner Restaurant: medium level, great wine list (special thank to Paolo, the manager) but expensive 65€ each for 1 second, 1 dessert and a good glass of wine.
Pool restaurant: expensive and not very good (hamburger 16€)
IMPORTANT: I do not suggest the hotel package because they’re not cost saving. Better to pay only what you really want to do, many good and nice restaurant cheaper in the area.

Stayed here on Points redemption as a Marriott Ambassador…

Arrival to the property was by car, and as such parking on site was free of charge; a nice perk honestly, since most luxury properties in Europe charge for parking/valet due to limited space/availability.

The propery sits atop one of the largest thermal grottos in Europe. Since this was a Spa trip for Mom, I thought this was perfect for her. The entrance has a gate and red carpet, which adds to the luxurious feel. Being tucked away at the base of the mountain gave this property a very secluded feeling but was also an amazing architectural sight as it fit in with the aesthetic of the Tuscany region.

Check in was a breeze, as they were awaiting my check in. I was briefed on the features and timings of the different places on property, and was thanked for my status. I chose the free breakfast, and was also given a $10 F&B credit.

Arriving into the room, the room was as expected, beautifully appointed Tuscan-inspired contemporary furnishings throughout. Waiting for me in our room was a delightful welcome gift; a bottle of prosecco, chocolates, and a hand-written later. Definitely a nice touch for being an Ambassador!!

The property has many spa related features and we tried to use as many as possible that were included in our stay, as well as a few paid massage services. The entrance to the thermal grotto is 25EUR per person, and it's defitinitely worth the experieince!!

We also had dinner at the on site restaurant which provided a slightly modern take on Tuscan cuisine. The breakfast was also buffet style, which was great. The bar is very nice, and they didn't charge an arm and a leg for drinks.

I used both the thermal pool (luke warm) and the normal pool (cooler); both very relaxing.

Overall, this was an amazing getaway for me to treat mom to a spa day weekend experience. This property was added to the Bonvoy portfolio just last year!!

My husband and I spent a few days in Tuscany and we absolutely LOVED this hotel! Not only is it beautiful with spacious rooms and bathrooms, amazing views of the grounds, a giant pool, and fantastic spa but the staff is amazing! When we arrived we had rental car issues and ultimately could not get a car (the Hertz nearby from where we reserved and who sent us confirmation is actually closed until September 2022). One of the concierge gentlemen was so helpful. He spent hours helping us to find, book, and price out a private driver so we could make our tours and tastings and see as many areas of Tuscany as we could. He really went above and beyond to help us out and we couldn’t have appreciated it more. Additionally concierge gave us the most incredible recommendation for dinner (Trattoria da Marino, a must for anyone in the area) and they even called to make sure we could get in. As far as our stay, itself, it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. Our room had a balcony over the entrance so we had beautiful views. We booked massages which were incredible. And we had a really delicious dinner there our final night. Couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience or better service.

What a wonderful break we had here for our two week stay in Italy. We booked for two nights. The grounds and the spa were gorgeous and exactly what we expected. The only negative is that we booked through a third party, Expedia, and this was reflected in the room choice, which was on the spa floor. Very loud, and you can hear the cleaners knocking on the doors and walking up and down the hallways.

The staff here were phenomenally, kind and very helpful. The only negative thing I would say is that food at the restaurant took really long to come out. Meals would often last 2 1/2 hours and I don’t think this is an Italian thing because at the other places we ate at in Italy, the service was really quick.

The food was also just OK compared to other restaurants and the menu choice was not that large. We ended up walking into town one night for the most amazing pizza we had in Italy.

So, while I would recommend this place, I would not recommend eating all of your meals here.

We recently enjoyed a nice long weekend stay at Grotta Giusti Thermal Spa Resort Tuscany, Autograph Collection. Bonvoy Ambassador level, paid stay for four nights, booked Classic (basic) room, received one level comp upgrade to a recently renovated Park View room. Greeted with warm welcome by staff at check in. The breakfast had a good selection, we also ate a dinner in the hotel restaurant, very good service, and meals. Superb staff in all departments, this team is constantly cleaning, even wiping down table bases. Visiting the on-property thermal grotto is an must do experience, we also had excellent massages from Laura and Valeria. Bartender Fredirico was amazing, very professional and providing next level service. His own creation is a cocktail called Sixth Sense and is not to be missed. On several occasions during our stay, the GM went out of her way engaging with us at length seeking feedback about the hotel and staff. Location worked well, an easy one-hour car drive to Florence. We’ll definitely return.

This property is now part to the autograph collection by Marriott and that’s how we found this. If you like to visit Tuscany this is an ideal place as in between of Lucca and Florence.

The hotel looks very nice from outside as inside. It has a nice big park and is dog friendly.

The staff at reception is very polite and super friendly. As loyal titanium elite we got upgraded to a Junior suite which looked exactly as on the pictures and is nicely decorated. However the aircon was not working at all during the whole stay and neither air system. So we had to refresh our room by opening the window, old school style.

We would have given 5 stars but the food is very disappointing. Breakfast is like in a courtyard hotel so very average. Every day the same and the only egg dish are cooked egg or scrambled egg from tetra pack (not fresh). One day we tried the omelette which cost 8 eur addition. Yes 8 eur on top to the 25€ per person for buffet breakfast. The omelette was also from the same source as the scrambled egg from the buffet. For a spa property we would have wished to have local organic food but this is not the case. The bread choice is shameful. Toast and white bread the cheapest you can find in supermarket and also the cakes are not homemade. As an autograph collection breakfast has to be superb. Other guests from Austria said the same so it’s not only us. Even dinner which we never tried as breakfast quality is so low is not good according to other guests. Spaghetti carbonara for 18€ and not even good taste is just shameful.

The grotto was unfortunately closed although the moment we booked it said it would be open.

They also have ebikes complimentary which is great but only one was working properly the other was only working from time to time.

This hotel has still lots to improve for a 5 star property. We would rather rate it with 4 star but for 300€ + a night on a 5 star level for Italy

Would we come back? Don’t know to be honest

The moment we checked in the experience was off the room type we requested wasn't available. the reception host Christian did nothing to try to accommodate when we finally arrived in our room. It was so small and smelled moldy. The bathroom had mold in the shower and on the backsplash of the sink. the shower pressure did not work towels looked dingy. The door knob to our room fell off after day 2 When maintenance arrived to repair, he had no idea how to fix it so they had to send somebody else. without telling us we realized the maintenance decided to fix our toilet, which we didn't know had an issue and were out of our room all day while we waited for them to repair. The cleaning service did not do a good job maintaining rooms very dusty and when very dusty, and did not restock the amenities they provided . First night ate dinner in restaurant food was awful. Very disappointed and Never any staff around when you wanted to order a drink at the bar you had to wait and look for someone. Even the coffee in the morning tasted awful.
The vibe of this place is odd Many people including us, could not find their way around the Spa area. It was like Maze . So bottom line my opinion this was the most BORING out-of-the-way dirty hotel does not give you the Tuscan feel if you're looking to experience that area. It's too bad because every other hotel we experienced on our 11 days here was extraordinary.

This property recently went through a refurb and refit after joining Marriot Bonvoy as an Autograph hotel.

The Restoration work is beautiful and the money has been spent really well to bring this hotel into 21st century whilst enjoying its historical past. The only comment was of soundproofing as we could hear some conversations from others, and though the black curtains were phenomenal the seal on the door isn't brilliant so you would actually have light leaks coming in through the door which is a first for us.

We were here as part of kicking off our Honeymoon in Italy and have to say the staff were really what help make the experience brilliant.

Special mentions to Francesco and Federico. Both were extremely helpful and always happy to help, particularly with our constant cocktail requests and adaptations. Francesco's Barrel aged concoctions are worth truly exploring.

We wish everyone here the best and would definitely look to come back if we were in the area.

Thank you team.

Great Hotel. The hotel is beautiful with excellent facilities including a beautiful outdoor pool with pool bar, restaurants, fitness room. The lobby is beautiful with several seating areas. The park is also wonderful with centenary trees, trail for exercising and tennis courts. The rooms are modern, good size and well appointed. The staff is attentive, and professional.

The propriety has a Valet and self-parking that is free of charge.

The hotel adjoins a large thermal bath resort that is open to the public. A section is reserved outside for guests only with a thermal pool and sauna. Also they have another small thermal pool and saunas in a quite place. On the other side of the propriety a non-heated that is exclusively for hotel guests as well.

There is also the grotto. More further you go inside the temperature goes up (max. 36C), but is not too dip. It is worth a visit, the hotel guests get a 50% discount on entry.

They have several body treatments and massage. We tried a few. Valeria is a good massage therapist, she is professional and friendly.

It is a wonderful place for a relaxing.

We stayed mid April 2023 for two nights. There is additional fees of 29€ for the underground thermal cave. However it does not include swimming in the cave as it is an additional charge of 100€ roughly for them to have professional diver to swim with you. All other areas on the resort premise as well as the spa property, are free of charge as part of your hotel stay.
