My fiancé and I went for a wedding in October and stayed at this hotel for a week. The room was simple, nice and very clean. Bruna, the hotel owner was a magnificent hostess. She made sure everything was fine and made us feel like family. She made our visit to Italy most memorable. I recommend this hotel to anyone.
My husband and I were planning to go to Pratola to visit family, and also go to the "White Night" party, a circus-themed summer party that promised to be very nice! We got recommended Albergo Moretto because of the location (it is close to the central Piazza and main church -Madonna della Libera-), so we were happy to go with it. We got there on Friday night and they were expecting us. The hotel is renovated, so the floors and bathrooms are relatively new (no carpet - which I love). The room was clean, the bed was two twin beds put together (for me no problem, I even prefer it that way because my husband moves a LOT); it had air conditioning, which we didn't use because at night the mountain makes the weather very nice. It had a small closet with hangers and a desk with a chair. The bathroom is big for Italy, the shower also. The room was a corner one (35) and had two big balconies with a spectacular view of the mountains. The room was cleaned every day, and they were more than happy to give us more amenities when we asked. La Colazione (breakfast) is like being at home with Nonna. Splendid coffee, pizzele (an Abbruzzese recipe of crepe like soft dough) filled with Nutella or marmalade, small orange flavored muffins, tea with lemon and water. And you can ask for how many pizzele you want! Ms. Bruna and her family are always thinking of what they can do to make you comfortable. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so take that in consideration in case you need it (stairs are wide). The hotel is within walking distance of the main Piazza della Maddona della Libera, where you can see the wonderful church, there are many bars were you can do aperitivo (drinks and finger food), have dinner or a great gelato. The whole town is beautiful and truly the heart of Italy. I highly recommend it if you want to walk through a true Italian town. Near there are little towns that are truly magical, like Scanno, which it's lake has a heart form. You will truly treasure it.…
Albergo Moretto was a very nice, clean, and pleasant place to stay. The hotel owner is a lovely and accommodating person who made us feel very welcome even though we had a little bit of a language barrier. The room included a continental breakfast of fresh baked bread, pastries and coffee. There is also free wi-fi. Pratola Peligna is a very small town so everything in the village is within walking distance. I suggest that you come with an ability to speak some Italian or have an interpreter as not many people in the village speak English.
Rooms are beautifully renovated throughout. Clean, modern bathroom. Wifi worked perfectly. Nice views of the village and surrounding mountains. Very convenient--within walking distance of main piazza, Church of Madonna Della Libera, restaurants and shops. There is also a small park very nearby with a playground if you are traveling with kids. Hotel is family owned and the daughter speaks very good English. There is a small cafe off the lobby that offers beverages and pastries. I believe there may be a restaurant too but I did not eat there and am not sure of that. Does not offer the amenities of a large hotel or resort but enough to be comfortable. Overall a nice hotel and reasonably priced.
