We stayed in December for one night. The owner was friendly and apologetic that the hall/stairway was a bit messy as they were having work done. We were offered a choice of a quieter room at the back, or one with views at the front. We opted for the front. It was noisy from traffic with the windows open, but...

We visited Swing cottage a couple of years ago and it was great! How it has changed! They no longer do breakfast as they concentrate all their efforts on the restaurant/ late bar under the bedrooms!! The beds seemed clean and towels fine. A bit of mould around the shower cubicle, cracked floor tiles and the wooden floor was very...

I'll never go by the reviews on trip advisor again, really need to get their reviews updated on this place. We stayed in the Mallard room a twin at the rear of the cottage, it was over the bar and the music played till the early hours until I went down myself and asked for them to turn it down....

Stayed at this quaint little place over the August bank holiday weekend. When we arrived we were greeted and made most welcome by a very pleasant young lady, who, as our room wasn't quite ready (we had arrived rather early) offered us a pot of freshly ground coffee and the chance to take the weight off our feet. Shortly after we...

We (couple in our 50's) stayed here for 1 night. Upon arrival we were greeted at the desk by a lovely lady who was polite, helpful and with a lovely smile. The room we had was overlooking the lake, it was clean, tidy and very airey. I had read reviews about the filling of kettles and the lack of a...

Swing Cottage is right across the road from Lake Hollingworth, and Lisa and John are great hosts! Other reviews have complained of it being "dirty"... we didn't find that to be true. If we had a criticism, it would be the lack of a place to plug the supplied coffee pot in, and the lack of a towel rack to...
