We booked three days/nights at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria with the idea of having a luxurious treat to relax and recover from our climb up Mt. Kinabalu as a family. We booked two adjoining rooms the Ocean Wing with the idea of having nice views and big, clean, comfy rooms to hang out in, close proximity to a nice beach...

A wonderful holiday for the whole family. We could not fault any of the staff who were simply superb; probably the best trained, attentive and genuinely friendly staff that we have encountered anywhere. The great variety of family friendly restaurants, together with the excellent "Coast" fine dining restaurant made for happy kids, parents and grandparents. We would have no hesitation...

As part of our honeymoon, we stopped at this resort for 5 nights which we chose mainly due to the Orang-utans Rehabilitation Centre. On arrival, we were impressed with the security and the drive up to the front entrance passing the Golf courses. The gong to mark our arrival made us feel special and the views from the lobby just...

First of all I know that it is no-ones fault if the weather is bad when you go away but still...3 nights here and it never stopped raining and there is nothing to do when the heavens open. Every single activity except board games is cancelled and the pool is closed, so disappointing. The resort itself is great, 5 different...

A wonderful place for families. An occasional thunder and rain in the afternoons in October was not expected. But overall, a fantastic holiday destination. A variety of restaurants on offer was a huge bonus. Food quality was fantastic in all the restaurants, especially The Coast. Children were well entertained in the kids club- the best one we have taken them...

The Shangri-La Rasa Ria is a wonderful, friendly, family resort with all the amenities on a beautiful beach. What will bring me back to this and other Shangri-La resorts is the compassion, care and hospitality we received during a family emergency on our holiday. Will, Nadia, Steffie, Alfons and the entire staff exceeded any expectations we could have ever had...

For a remote paradise getaway this hotel is about as relaxing as trying to take a nap in the middle of Disneyland. The Garden Wing is jam-packed with kids running around everywhere screaming; the Ocean Wing has fewer kids but loud construction going on every day. If you're traveling with a family it's a great place, beautiful grounds, very clean,...

The Shangri-La Rasa Ria is the most overpriced beach resort I have ever stayed in with my family. Although the set up looks immaculate and the pool area is inviting especially if you have young children, the service was dreadful and leaves little to be desired. If you are looking for a quiet beach resort getaway, the Shangri La Rasa...

This is by far one of the best resort based accommodation we have stayed in. The staff were professional and friendly. I believe the little things make a difference and personal touches like taking the time to learn your name, being there to resolve any issues and the knowledge to be able to make recommendations on an infinite number of...

Stayed at the Rasa Ria for 9 Nights in October. Well, what can I say, I was completely blown away. The place is beautiful, the service absolutely first class and the staff are the nicest, happiest people I have every come across in a hotel - a genuine eager to please attitude. We upgraded to the Ocean Wing and were...
